Hi guys, Looking to remove this but don't want to force it and break the clips, how do I undo the many tiny clips to release the seal at the front edge with the grille/headlights? Cheers Ron

Hi Riley, I nearly bought your old valver from a lad in Sunderland back in 2009. It was still going strong but I didn't buy in the end as one of the cylinders was below tolerance for compression. It was up for £900 ;) id like to know where my old valver H559 FBX is now, burgundy pearl and I sold back in 2002

Bummer, too far away but cheers

Could be interested in the bonnet if it is straight, what're abouts are you?

This doesn't look too bad, we could use a loom from a MK3 as price on Kufatek looks decent, extend any wires that need extending, that is easy enough. Use a sharan switch and make a new square from to place it in. Not a huge amount of work but definitely down at the bottom of my list right now

Cheers guys, I have a few days off over chrimble so I'll take the one in there out, try to fix it and if that fails....get one from ECP -
Problem is those guys take the mick on price ;) They'll probably want £150 for it!

Mine is making a ton of racket on start up but then goes quiet after 30 secs or so. I'm guessing easiest thing is to replace. Seen a eBay shop selling replacements for £30, anyone else got another recommendation before I go for it? Cheers

Easier said than done though mate, I've been looking for a blackberry bonnet for 4 months now. Lots of Green, Blue and Red about but no blackberry. I found one but it was 600 miles away and still needed reprinting :( I have found a green one in Leeds for £40 and chances are, I'll go for that and have it repainted top and bottom.

Nice car mate, welcome to the site!

I'm pretty much exactly the same as you mate, had two corrados when I was 21-24 and then just bought another now that I'm 35. This time it was the exact spec I always wanted. Blackberry vr6 with black leather. You can do all sensors, thermostat and all housing parts for less than £100, I just bought everything and will be doing in new year. Most parts came from AVS and the rest from VW

Merry Christmas folks... Santa brought me a stereo and Bluetooth kit for my C :)

I think I need to get some prices for a new (used) bonnet and re-spray. Living in the north east is so inconvenient for buying corrado parts :(

My car is pretty much spot on exterior wise but the bonnet is buggered, lots of dents and ripples, a big deep dent at the front right on the radius (very hard to fix) and also the paint has reacted. The most cost effective way to fix this is to buy another one, have it painted and then swap it onto my car. For that, I am probably looking at £50 for a bonnet, then I have to transport it (there are 0 bonnet in the North East right now) and then have it painted and prepped.....probably looking at £300 to £350 all in all Or.....I could go carbon for a couple of hundred more but it would be delivered to my house with no hassle What do you guys think about carbon on my car? Btw I hope previous owner doesn't mind me using one of his pics ;)

Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road
Hofmiester replied to Hofmiester's topic in Members Gallery
Cheers, I think anything that can be returned to standard is ok but as these cars get older and rarer, butchery will be regretted big style. I think the Corrado is probably at the cheapest point it will ever be, I've owned vw beetles back when they were 20 yrs old and mk1 golfs and look what happened with them, plus the Raddo is rarer to start with. I have a new JVC head unit, nothing incredible but decent and has green illumination. I've also gone back to standard dials over the DDIs, partially as my DDI dials were on the fritz but I prefer the standard ones. Next job is to sort out these horrible Orange indicators, I have no idea why the previous owner thought these looked good and they are just a painted job and so look nasty. I bought a pair of good condition clears to go on. -
Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road

So I have a fix for the broken DDI dial connection. I essentially peeled the connectors off and then used a conductive adhesive to restick them. Also instead of having the two connectors +\- very close together, I separated them with scissors and then isolated them each individually with tape. This is so that none of the adhesive that I painted on, bleeds to the other terminal and shorts them out. The adhesive was £6 from eBay and is the same stuff used to repair electric window heater elements. I painted it on with a fine brush and then seal with tape. I used some paper clips to hold the whole thing together until dry Been working fine since although I managed to damage the speedo electroilluminecent when I peeled back the laminate coating, I think it is buggered but had I not done that, the repair would have been a success. -
So having bought my VR6 from another member (Mookie) back in October, I've decided to start my own gallery thread......leading on from his original below http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?71045-My-First-Corrado-Bye-Bye-Mk2-Golfs!-Hello-VR6! And the previous owner before Mookie http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=56925 First things first, needed to sort the cheap and nasty old golf gear knob and I also managed to source a good condition original steering wheel. I do like the momo but it I am more of a OEM+ man ;) Horrible cheap knob New "old" wheel The wheel has since been treated to a coating of new dye to make perfect, looking good so far and will post pics when dry Then I moved to the rear speakers and the car didn't have any. I didn't want to mess about with cutting the shelves and so I did some research and found a type of Pioneer speaker that is a straight fit Tight fit but no cutting! Just need to get a head unit now which is my Christmas present from my wife. Down side is that someone in the past decided to cut the old connectors out and tape in a Kenwood connector......thanks for that :( Will fix this over Xmas. Also took out my clocks as the DDI dials are on the fritz and found these relays.....I suspect they are related to the immobiliser? DDi dials and the root of the problem. Basically the connectors are just stuck to the electro luminescent dial with a thin plastic laminate and this has come loose over time. If I pinch the connector with my fingers, the dials stop flickering. I suspect the reason the connectors have come loose is to the wiring not being secured properly in the dash, the inverter was literally just hanging from the clock pod You can see these black marks on the connectors where they have been shorting out

If you haven't already tried 17" on a valver then I'd be careful. When I put 17" on my old 1.8 the car didn't have enough torque to pull those massive heavy wheels and so I lost quite a bit of performance and mpg. I ended up selling them and going with a set of 16" bbs and they were much better. It depends on your preference for performance over looks

Hi Matt, Nearly 3 weeks since the wrong switch was returned, I've pm'ed you but not heard anything back.....what's the score as I haven't had anything from you yet? Ron

Hi mate, Where abouts are you?

Having had a Khaki one, I have to say that I was not a massive fan of the colour unless is had just been polished.
