Rorgasm replied to Portent's topic in Suppliers Forum
The Halfords plug remover Worked fine for me & did the job nicely. There were only two sizes when i bought mine & i went for the larger size (16mm is im my head). I'll have a route around in my boot & let you know with in the hour. ---------- Post added at 02:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ---------- Just measured it & it seems to be 17mm socket with a 250mm body hope this helps you out. -
Feel for you mate, sad state of affairs indeed. Found this whilst flicking threw ebay hope it helps http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-FRONT-PANEL-G60-VR6-16V-8V-/270869417682?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f11134ed2

i would be extremly happy if it did. my valver is normally around the 21mpg mark (24mpg if i do a bit of Sunday driving but my C isn't keen on that sort of behaviour)......what about you Boost Monkey??
-
Cheers for the advice guys. Turns out the add was writen by a blind man. The poor Corrado had been R*ped for parts for a G60, which the guy want £6,500 for??? Surely Borbet alloys & carbon fiber bonnet can't push up the price that much?? All that was left of the Vr was the engine & the chassis. Much bigger project than i though it would be. So for that reason.........im out. Will remember your advice for when i stumble across the next vr6. Thanks once again:thumbleft:

im officially a Div!!!!! Coil overs had A LOT more compresstion to go. After spening ages cleaning all the crap of them i soon realised that my nuts were stopping at a certain point. A good soaking of WD40 & elbow grease & hey presto no more rubbing. Thanks for your advice guys, Appreciate very much:thumbleft:

i didn't think i'd gone over the top with any of it but have been having this sort of luck as of late. i have 10mm spacers but like i said, they were on my rear wheel. i take it they aren't the right type?? i've got a sneaky suspition that my coilover are still too low when fully extended as the rubbing is mostly on the top corners. Would changing spring lengths make any diference?? or am i just clutching at straws now?? Heard back from the suppiers & they are baffled as to why they are rubbing. They are blaming it on the coilover.

Cheers for responding. Yeh it’s only the fronts that are rubbing when im going round corners. I get one turn of the steering wheel turning right & between half to ¾ turning right. Speaking to Alloywheels.com (supplier of the alloys & tyres) & they said the offset is 38mm & the width is 7x17. They are looking into the problem for meat the moment but no doubt they will wash their hands of me due to the fact I have coil over knowing my luck. Could my coil overs be the problem??

Morning all. Recently purchased some 17” Wolfrace alloys with 205/40R17 Enduros on them. Not to my surprise the tyres rub on the inside of my arches. I’ve adjusted my coil overs to as high as the will go which has helped but I still have the same issue. I do have a set of spacer from the old set of alloy but they were fitted to the rear. Reluctant to fit spacers or play around anymore with my setup before getting advice from someone who has a good idea on what they are talking about because I haven’t got a clue, obviously. Any advice would be gratefully received, thanks.

Sounds interesting. Good luck & lookforward to seeing the out come.

I’d be interested in a meet as I’m on the south cost so if it’s in Guildford it’s the closest one so far, brands hatch would probably be too far for me. Sat or Sun, either day would suit. Pub sounds like a great idea:thumbleft:

I have a simular problem but i have changed nothing:-) some cold mornings my Rado strugles to start, coughing & spluttering for about a second or two then cuts out. On the second attempt it'll start up fine but will rev at 2500rpm for a good 5min. What do you reckon......Cold start sensor?
