Polyurethane VR6 front and rear engine mounts inc Fitting Guide
P3rks replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Forum Group-Buys
I'm interested if you can get these fast enough.. I need to renew my front mount asap. -
Not a bad shout.. The manifold was repaired (welded) a few months ago and also the front engine mount does have play.. It could have cracked again. Other than removing it; how do I go about doing this check? Ahhh, I see the tension screw now. I'm good with engines and cleaning tappets, I'm just unfamiliar with the VR.. I've not owned the car long enough to tell. It pulls like 190bhp should.

A local company in Rotherham who specialise in German cars. I don't think it's the cams/chains though. Service history is very comprehensive. It was august 2009 when carried out and approximately 3,000 miles ago. So any comeback on issues will be null and void being so long ago; I would have thought. What's the oil pressure Tensioning bolt!? But, the sound is 100% coming from the drivers side rear and not the tensioners side. I suspect a lazy/sticky/blocked lifter too.

My recently acquired VR6 has started ticking/tapping and it's slowly getting worse. Happens on cold and warm. Happens on idle but gets faster with speed.. I.e when I rev the engine the tapping increases. I've given it a good run too. The chains/tensioners and waterpump were changed 3k (2 years) ago. It's recently had a 10w40 oil change and oil filter in the last 500 miles. Oil level is fine. The tapping seems to be coming from the cam cover/throttle body area. More to the drivers side rear of the engine. There is a small leak from the rocker cover, but I plan on giving the car a fresh service for winter anyway (5w40, filter, plugs, leads, G12, vacuum pipes, rocker gasket and inlet gaskets). I plan on doing the old ATF trick to clear any crap in the lifters. But can anyone recommend me anything I should check before I start ripping it apart and replacing things? I'm completely new to VR's. Thanks. Rich

Apologies for another one of these threads.. I have been searching but I can't find a definitive answer.. I'm doing a decent service for winter.. The engine is on 125k has a 6-branch and exhaust and K&N panel filter. Thats it.. The engine is a little tappety but otherwise very smooth. I'm changing the oil, oil filter, plugs, HT leads and coolant. Using NGK BKR5E plugs. What oil do I go for? Using the search and people seem to go for either 5w40, 10w40 or 10w50.. Which one do I choose!!? Help! Also, regarding the ignition leads; I want to go for some red ones to brighten up the engine bay. I know I won't get any extra power, but I want some good quality ones. Dubpower seem to come up a lot and also the schimmel ones. The schimmel looks very good but the website says short runner. Any idea's on that or any recommendations please? Thanks.

Obsolete according to my local VW.. No surprises there. :)

I'm after a full inlet manifold (both parts), a throttlebody and a metal type rocker cover (I'll take a plastic one if need be). Must be from a OBD1 2.9 VR6. Thanks.

I am after 3 rubber fixings which sit in the slam panel so the grill can sit in nicely. Please no perished items. Thanks.

Can you do anything on these without the tyres?

I do have the receipt for the chip.. It's from G-Werks and states it as 'Eprom' with no other information. I will get a photo for you tomorrow of the gauge/pod but the chip will come with the ECU.. I don't really want to open the ECU with fear of damaging something. Unfortunately I'm not accepting offers on these two matey, the chip's are £100 new never mind with a working ECU and the gauge/pod is over £100 new and the SWG pod's are very hard to get hold of now. £100 posted is the best I'll do currently. Sorry. Erm... Pass.. There are no stickers on or anything.. How can I tell? -

It came with the car when I bought it... But... If I remember correctly it is suitable for a stage 5 charger, 68mm pulley and exhaust system/de-cat.. So it should be fine for your car really! £50 posted for the gauge and pod? It's immaculate and comes with the Revo box and everything... Less than half price at that! Thanks a lot Kev! Glad you're happy.. x -
