To be honest I'll only wind myself up if I start to write an essay about it. So I'll tell you tomorrow when I've got my new motor :)
-
Exactly the same thing happened to me in my golf the other day, bloody thing hasn't worked since!! LOL, that used to happen in my Polo GT. One minute you were driving along lesiurely, the next you were being stared at by everyone within 200 yards because the bloody thing wouldn't turn off
-
Yeah, but they only offer it to you if you 'trade in' your old RA2, which I thought you sold?
-
3 minutes actually

Picture of the rear...

You bastard; you knew that already! It's an Audi A4 2.0 Tdi S-line Not the exact car, but the same colour and wheels 8)
-
OK, so the Ibiza Cupra TDi was giving me no end of grief  so I decided to get shot of it. I collect my replacement car from a dealer tomorrow. Anyone wanna guess what it is? Four clues; 1) It's German 2) It's Diesel 3) Its VAG Group 4) Its a Saloon

Congratulations on the new job dude :) I've often thought about (and still am!) thinking about going for a radical job change (i.e. away from the Motor Industry). Just haven't got the balls to do it, LOL.

E38 has cost me dearly, and I didn't even make it there!!

Heres the damage :( -
Thought as I hadn't seen allot of you Guys in a while I would pop down in the Cupra to see some of you all. Coming down the A14 near Hundington and approaching a roundabout. Some blokes in a knackered LT35 pick-up are in front of me and have no rear lights. Anyway, they take off at the junction; but as they had no rear lights I couldn't see they had slammed on there brakes. So WHACK!; straight into their towbar; As a result my 4 month old Cupra now requires; New Bumper New Number plate New Bumper Bar New Radiator mounts - I couldn't get the car into 3rd or 5th as the Radiator was resting on the Gearbox end of the selector!!  New Intercooler and possibly a new slam panel. Did the usual; exchanged details. But just my luck; the blokes are contracted Polish Workers  so my guess is they had no insurance at all. However, as I was behind I guess in the laws eyes I'm to blame for not being extra vigilant :( So I'm now about £700 worse off  Can't claim through insurance either as I can barely get insured as it is! Absolutely gutted!

Anything associated with Yorkshire Cruise burns my eyes!!

Have I missed something since I've been away?

Damn, well as you know I never plan that far ahead so I might be able to make it, but might not  What day are you going? -
I think his points still valid though, whats the point if the handling isn't up to it :( Heres mine btw :) You think yours smokes Jim, you want to see mine!

Lucky Gits Although since I last posted on here I did get invited to Ingolstadt by Audi to see the Q7 and RS4 in April. If Karmanns hospitality is anything like Audi's you'll have a great time! -

Ahhh, I see :) E38? Blimey is that a year ago already!?! If Kev or Steve could give us a lift I may pop along as I haven't seen some of the crowd in ages, or attended a VW meet since November last year!! -
Or is there a reason why 99.9% of people have their photo in their Avators, is it a coincidence? Or am I going mad?
-
Thats more a problem with the Golf 4 than the engine tbh :( Thankfully SEAT spent allot of time and money getting mine right, no one in the VAG group seemed to get the Golf 4 platform handling right, even the new TT Quattro Sport still ain't 100% The good news is the S3 upper and lower strut braces fit onto the MK4 Golf and they only cost about £75.00 for the set :D This will tighten things up a bit, but if you want your handling totally sorted you'll need to look at uprated springs/dampers :(

Jim, never knew you came over to the sooty-side!! I now own a SEAT Ibiza Cupra TDi 160bhp, which is basically a 150 unit with a FMIC and larger air intake, giving an extra 10bhp. Its now REVO'd and is running around 200bhp and about 310lbs/ft of torque 8) The only thing I miss owning a Diesel is the fact that even a 1.0 petrol can beat you off the line, theres just too much torque coming at once to get a good start  TDi's are brilliant mid-range, but crap 0-60, which is irrelevant nowadays anyway. I took my Cupra to Santa Pod at the weekend, heat soak (26*C!!) and impossible to control wheel-spinning starts meant the best 1/4 mile time I could muster was 14.8 seconds :( There were problems with some early 150PD's and failing PD injectors after about 100,000 miles, but modified ones were introduced years ago, so i'm not worried!

When I read the thread title I thought 'Oh no, not AGAIN!?!?!' Then I realised this one dates back to last year
-
Envy, you slaaaaaaag! 8) The Corrado looks the nuts mate :D
-
Has he tried an Air Mass meter? :?
-
I wouldn't buy it tbh, not as fast as you'd think (or as fast as it feels, either way  )
-
Nope, thanks to REVO it pics up at 1900rpm, goes mental at 3500rpm and then carries all the way past the red line! (couldn't even get near the redline before the OBD remap). :D Be careful with AMD's so called 'custom map', they tend to over-exagerate there power figures, make sure you get it RR'd while you are there!
-
It's already gopt 1800 miles on it, and I've only had it 11 days
-
When you've got 205bhp and 310lbs/ft of Diesel torque under your right foot it doesn't even come into the equation
