I'm absolutely stunned! But glad your OK and still have all the relevant body parts intact, quite amazed you walked away to be honest! Such a waste of a good car, but I guess these things can't be helped. I'd buy Jediknights, though make sure you have some more Driving lessons first

Thats true up until 4000rpm, FSI operates under stratified charge at -4000rpm and homogeneous charge at 4000rpm+ load. The piston head has a slight curve in one side (best I can describe!) it so the petrol Burns more efficiently in Stratified mode. In homogeneos mode it runs like any other petrol engine (which is why nearly all of the power is high up). You'd do well to explain how it all works in one post, so I won't  My FSi is chipped from 86bhp to 101bhp. The only UK Importer currently offering a chip is Scotts Mototune in Dover (where I got mine done) which uses SKN chips. FSi tuning yealds better results than normal petrol engines (and my MPG is up!), but its still nowhere near Diesel tuning :(

Still...VBH. I wouldn't chuck her out of bed in a hurry! 8) Theres something about a Woman who knows her Cars :D

probably why it has a gearbox Exaclty, almost any Turbo car will have lag in 6th gear at 30mph!

What they've proved is that it can beat a Lambo and cost 1/3 of the price, but expect Supercar maintenance. Clarksons probably right though, the FQ320-340 are probably the better versions.

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
Pat_McCrotch replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
I've voted for Kevs, as I've supplied most of the parts for it! -
Anyone know the part number for the black VW badges to fit 92> Corrado. I assume these are lifted off another model as they don't list em on ETKA. Cheers :-) Neil
-
Nearer £40 for a set! Drop me a PM mate and I'll get you some cheaper. Cheers Neil

Just don't start looking at the reflection as you drive past shops with glass windows!! I always do that, especially when I have loads of people in my car as its looks much lower 8)
-
They're only about £15 from your local dealer. Ensure the coil has the number 06B905115Land not 06B905115J as they are the faulty ones.

I thought Dinkus was banned from Ipswich? Nah, wern't Dinkus. This Corrado wasn't 'heightened' :)

L plate dark blue VR6 going down Wherstead Road at 7:30am this morning. Bombed it down the Ski-slope as joined the A137 (note: not litterally the Ski-slope, the road beside it  ). It look Bloody cool! 8)

S3's are cool 8) Previous shape A3 was probably the most reliable of the model range. Just make sure the Haldex oil was changed on the 20k service and the Haldex Oil and filter changed at the 40K service and you should be able to avoid any major expenses. Many VW dealers never bothered to change the filters on the Golf/Bora 4motions as part of the service regime, lets just say many of them learnt the hard way  While its true its not the best handling car in the world. They grip the road like they're on rails and the steering doesn't suffer as much from the numb feel as the TT does. While I personally I feel it handles better than a TT, the handlings a subjective thing depending on who you speak to (markttc, if your reading. Don't get all high and mighty and post this on the TT forum  ) I do know of a 225bhp model which was offered to me a couple of days ago for £15000, dark mettalic Grey in colour on a 51 plate (full leather Recaros too 8) ). I would've loved to say yes but the fuel consumption would've killed me! :( PM me if you want the details of whos selling the car.

Doh, I forgot the faulty Cut-Off valve problem! Yep, components made in poorer countries seem to be ruining Audi at the moment. 10 years ago nearly all of there parts were built in Germany, or at worst in Europe. Nowadays a good majority of the common faulty parts are made in Slovakia, China etc. Whats strange about the Italian dashes is that they are also fitted to A3's yet they almost never fail! (note: almost!). So its obviously something unique to the TT dash that is failing so often. The DSG problem is something that I was aware of. But as we haven't come accross it yet I've never really bothered to look into it. I know early DSG's were recalled because they were underfilled by 1/2 litre of Gearbox Oil. Perhaps this was causing failiure/poor selection? I now know Audi no longer shout about the 'Launch Control' feature on them though  Despite those minor problems. I think the DSG TT is the only thing thats saving the car and its the only one I've ever come close to actually enjoying driving. TT's definately grip the road well, but thats because the Haldex system is so good! However, I know i'm not alone in this opinion but I actually found the S3 much more enjoyable to drive, as well as being more reliable, practical and better looking. The S3 also don't seem to suffer as badly from the wooden, unresponsive feel you get from the steering. Agreed, the 1.8T is a fantastic engine for tuning. But I'd still rather have it in an S3/Cupra. Thats cheating! You've obviously never met the Suffolk lot then

Took a few days off to eBay loads of stuff for the Corrado/Ibiza Cupra/Golf/Alfa* fund actually  * For those who care, I had a moment of looking at different cars. But I think the Corrado makes more sense now 8)

No, but if I did I certainly wouldn't be in there for long!

So which part of 'most unreliable Audi on sale' and 'unsatisfying to drive' didn't get through then? Fair enough, I apologise for putting 'genuinely' rather than 'generally' though as that was a word error on my part! Oh, and no. You won't be getting any cheap parts off me. I have no sympathy for you!
-
Yes. Most of the problems are 'known' on the other models, but not even to half as high a degree as on a TT. Whats your point? Was that a deliberate attempt to lose the respect of everyone who reads this or are you just a bit confused? Can we just go back to the original post here please? Now, I'm no brain surgeon. But basically, you've asked people for there opinion on this particular car. But then get all uptight and try to belittle everyones opinion when they don't like it? Fair enough.. :? But if you 'had enough experience to make you own judgement', why did you even bother asking? Basically, your trying to say that you've got the choice to buy the car, which you have, but your poetic speech on your VAG knowledge makes you look a bit arrogant tbh  Theres a huge difference between the Corrado and the TT. Firstly, and more importantly, the Corrado was a drivers car. Secondly, most (not all) of the Corrados problems are due to age/wear rather than poor quality design. Oh, and was that a dig because I don't own a Corrado? Oh, I'm heartbroken! How could you SAY such a thing!?! Yes, the issue is Audi promised allot and delivered nothing. They promised us a modern UR Quattro, we got an unreliable Golf in a Bahaus suit.

Even if i said what I wrote on here to a customer in working hours, it'd pretty much go straight over there heads anyway (well, maybe not the wanker bit...). All they really care about is how good it looks. The only people who like TT's in our dealership are the Sales department, because they make a killing from these daft people! The quality problems are due to where the parts are made and Audis refusal to actually revise the parts to fix them. Its actually cheaper to them to make a part that will fail after a year than it is to make a part that will last the life of the vehicle (and bear in mind, most of the parts are still being replaced under Warranty :x ...) I'd pretty much recommened any Audi over its BMW/Merc/Jag counterparts. Except of course the TT. Theres only one thing thats good about the TT, and its these wheels... Otherwise, its a hatefull, hatefull car

Help - Polo blower series resistor query
Pat_McCrotch replied to craigowl's topic in General Car Chat
Copper wire should be fine, its a fix many MK3 owners use. If you don't feel safe with that however, a 10p resister will be fine. Or £16 spent at G+S will get you the complete VAG thermal resister. On my GT, I just bought a new thermal resister. But I'm lazy  -
Good job we all have our own opinions then and i don`t need to save any cash as i allready have it and im actually parcial to a bit of wan***g :) Ah well, sorry I didn't see the topic sooner. You could've bought a decent car otherwise. Look forward to faulty Acceleration sensors, instrument clusters, clutch master cylinders (as well as snapping clutch pedals), faulty fuel senders, rusting roof rails, tempremental radios, creaking anti-roll bars and exploding wheel bearings :) The TT is without doubt the worst car Audi have made in the last 20 years, I wouldn't wish one upon my worst enemy.
-
The TT is without doubt the most unreliable Audi currently on sale. Unsatisfying to drive, made from poor quality parts, impractical, common and althougth I hate to be prejudice, the people who own them are genuinely all shallow wannabee w*****s! These people don't buy them for any kind of driving experience, they drive them purely for image purposes only. My advice: save a bit more cash and go for an A3 2.0 TDi DSG S-Line. It is by far one of the best cars in Audis range at the moment. (btw, I'm convinced that instrument clusters will soon be written into the service regime for TT's. As they don't seem to last more than 15000 miles  )

Banana Yellow 16v Corrado in inbred Stowmarket, Suffolk about 1pm this afternoon. Different front bumper, bonnet spoiler and Audi door handles. Looked quite clean for winter!
-
Green 16v/G60 on a J plate going around Sudbury, Suffolk at the moment. Tinted rear lights, 17s and usually seen doing the School run.
