Hate to be the dark cloud but it sounds like your cylinder pistons rings are fried are you getting blue haze smoke from your exhaust ??. Bones -
Hi ya again the sound proofing from what I understand is available but also available from various other suppliers easy enough to google they tend to come in cut to fit kits I have done this on various golfs I have had really easy and satisfying job the kits are sticky backed very sticky and can be very heavy depending on your sound proofing choice. Coolio Bones:cool:

Hi ya although I have only had experience with a 2ltr valver and many golfs you should find it under the cover and it will have a easy electrical plug on one end and the other will go into the breather system...if you do a search on here you will find a few pictures around to give you an idea of what you are looking for literally unplug it gently and remove the breather tube no probs. Bones ---------- Post added at 10:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:26 PM ---------- Hi ya again just thought id let you know there is a new thread for a breaking VR6 rado grant motorsport and he has a idle up for sale for £20 just thinking out load incase yours is kaput. Bones

Hi ya the idle valve should have a small pin like sensor in the end that follows the air flow it is extremely delicate but if its in place a good clean with wd40 is always worth a try you can pick up good second hand ones on here for £20 to £50...in honesty I wouldn't even give VW the joy of forking out that kind of money. Hay guys finally got round to some way over due maintainance on the rado today....Full oil flush Black as coal couldnt get my breath....change power steering fluidFlush out and change ( the gunk that came out of the hose was seriously way over due to be changed...nice green stuff in and running now and super silent power steering)....coolant flush and change not in bad condition in fairness but non the less needed doing... Rado feels and drives even better than it did before given that I bought the car with a full serice history...you have to question what consumables these garages use anyway thats my day and little rant over...good times. Defo correct on the little things they count for so much and just add to the driving pleasure....nothing better than a valver growling down the road and the car is free from squeaks and rattles....I use a little spray grease first and then plenty of Mr Sheen.....I have found that heavy grease can attract gubbins and dust over time which if you are really unlucky binds up the works...thanks for the reply Andy.

Hay guys nothing out of the ordinary but just thought I would share my Sunday morning work with you all.Had my Rado about a month now and loving it 101000 miles valver moonlight blue will get round to putting up a few pics. Anyway had a annoying rattle from my driver side door so this morning was my time to sort it...removed the door car (how easy do they come off but how tedious are they to go back on first time :bonk:) water shield had clearly been part opened before so a gentle peel back inside door panels in great condition full inspection-nothing untoward found good news...so eventually found a connecting plug hanging and knocking on the bare metal panel jesus inside the car sounded like an elephant was coming through the door...anyway secured said plug cleaned and lubed every thing that moves plenty of Mr sheen on the window rollers WD is fab but for all my electric windows I use Mr Sheen great lube and doesnt run off over time.... Tweeked the sound proofing on the door card and added a little extra sticky backed felt to the door lock trigger nicely secure now replaced door card fixings re silicone d the water shield and reassembled all before lunch time and cooked a chilli with braised rice and warm tortillas phewwww a man shouldnt have to work this hard on his day off :thumbleft:
