  1. Yes, that is the aerial amplifier gone. You start loosing AM reception and hear some cracks, and then you start loosing FM quality weak reception. There is a How-To in this forum and a link to some pictures courtesy of Dinkus i think... It is an easy job! Have fun!
  2. I hope you understand what i mean...
  3. What the fu** is going on then?  :silly: :shocked!:  :confused4:   It can only be related with the coil power suppy control (on/off) then! Get a scope meter and watch the wavefrom in the coil feed. It will give you a clue where is the problem coming from (before the coil circuit , or after the coil circuit.

    losing coolant

    Dead HeadGasket?
  5. Yes! That can be your problem. That wire is the ground connection.
  6. What? :shocked!: Let me see if i understood. When the ignition is on and the motor is not running there is a cycle spark on cilinder 1? And it is only at cilinder 1 all the times? There is no explanation for that... The rotor does not stop in the same place everytime you turn off the engine. How can it always be only in cilinder 1? Is your dizzy well fitted? What about timing? You might have a deffo ECU then...
  7. What is a group buy? Do they make a better price or something like that? If so... I would be interested in the 8mm leads in red without sleeve. 8)
  8. PhatVR6, Have you fitted these leads? Do you notice any difference in your car? I want to buy some leads for my G60 but i am undecided between these or the Splitfire ones... :? Any recomendations?
  9. Your gauges are awesome Henny! :D
  10. :D :D :D  160 mph  Going down the highway tonight! The oil temperature went up to 140º !!! I won´t do this anymore! I do not like the feeling though the car is very handy and stable! 8) Congratulations to VW! And SNS !!! :D
  11. Check the Knock Sensor harness back to the ECU. The knock sensor operates with very low voltages, it has no amp-op built in. So any damage in the wiring or even in corroded connectors are able to cause this situation. Also check for correct torque 15nm setting and 6º timing set for safe. What else upon all replys... Keep posting mate! We´re here to help! :D
  12. I have the same problem mate! When i´m in traffic pressing the brake pedal for to long the abs pump starts to work trying to reach a certain pressure to then shut off. If i keep the pedal lightly pressed the pedal starts to go to the floor  and the ABS light comes on with the warning light on the dashboard too! The pedal starts vibrating i start to lose brake grip! Need to pull the emergency handbrake! This used to happen often when i first bought the car (it was stopped for a long time). Today it is rare to notice this. But there is a way to avoid this. So when you are in the traffic pressing the brake pedal (enought to keep the car stopped) try to press a little more than the necessary! I suspect that this is a issue related with an oil leak in the master brake cilinder. Do you hear you something like an air leak when you press the brake pedal? I do! Any ideas mates?
  13. is it not a sign of corrosion in the coolant system when it goes brown-ish  :?: .... Yeah i do think so!

    Flat Spots!

I had a similar problem like that one on my girlfriends car. It was a very dirty fuel filter! 8) Don´t forget to check it out mate!

    Brake Bleeding

Don´t say anything related with brake bleeding to me! Today i changed the front discs and pads. After that i felt the brake pedal very spongey! But how could that be? I haven´t touched anything else. Is it possible to have air in the system even that way? The bad news... I decided to bleed the system, and the front left bleeding pipe was sized... IT IS BROKEN NOW!

Go for it mate! 8) Get in the SuperCharged world!!! :D
  20. I fitted 10cm JBL speakers on mine. They don´t fit directly. I needed to cut some little parts of the speaker. Very easy job! 8) Great sound! :D

    My C wont start

That sounds like the legendary ignition switch... There are many mates in this forum with VR6 that can help you more than me... It can also be another problem...
  22. Lambda probe? Fuel consumption reading in MFA is done by vaccum calculations. Put the MFA in the hidden mode and see the vaccum readings you´re getting from idle to running. If they are OK then you might have a dodgy MFA (bleeded capacitors pherhaps, it happened to me). If the readings are NOT normal, then vaccum line to the MFA might be blocked or even leaking...
