  1. Great work Tom. You make me feel very guilty as all my efforts have gone into the Golf over the past couple of months and the Corrado had been left to gather dust :nono:
  2. The VR looked very nice. How does the VXR compare? I,ve driven the Corsa diesel and didn't think that it was too bad.
  3. A couple of pics of my new daily. Just had a go at wet sanding and polishing, it has totally lifted the original paint finish and removed all the orange peel effect :)
  4. Just got my wheels back from BJV. They've done a great job. A few before and after pics...
  5. No mods and agreed value of £4500 :D I couldn't belive how low the excess is.
  6. sounds good, very good... whats your age, no claims if you dont mind me asking??[/quote:1flou31b] Over 40 with max no claims, a couple of non fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  7. Just got a quote for £188 fully comp with a £50 excess and legal cover for my VR. Limited mileage but who cares at this price. They have seriously undercut every quote which I have had :D :D :D :D :D :D :D . http://www.heritage-quote.co.uk/
  8. I would say no as the clearance will be very tight and you may have problems with paint wear etc. I have had to remove the rubber bonnet gasket in the past in order to accommodate an eyebrow spoiler which is probably thinner than a bra.
  9. They should fit, although I will need to check how many wheels will fit into the back of a mk2 Golf. Andy are you leaving your tyres on? martin, just had my mot this morning and its gona need: brake compensator valve seized, hand brake inoperable on drivers side and may need a new caliper, exhaust has multiple leaks and a crack in the centre box, rear brake lines are badly corroded and it needs some spring washers for the rear suspension, probably looking at around the £300 mark... :( :( :( so my wheels are going to have to wait for another month, im really sorry to mess you around martin, i really wasnt expecting it to fail on these things, knew the exhaust was a problem but not everything else.. hope this doesnt cause too much of a problem. my apologies again.[/quote:7a737xv7] No worries Andy. Good luck with the repairs :) Shaun G60 - I will still probably make the trip up to BJV as I need to get my wheels done ASAP. You are more than welcome to bring them round to mine, although it may be just as cheap to deliver them tho BJV yourself.
  10. I have only made enquiries with them. They were V expensive, although they invited me to come and have a look at thier work when I mentioned BJV :)
  11. They should fit, although I will need to check how many wheels will fit into the back of a mk2 Golf. Andy are you leaving your tyres on?
  12. If anyone else can make it next Saturday ???- the more the merrier!
  13. I could probably get the tyres taken off for a bit less, but it would mean a trip over to mine during the week as he doesn't work on Saturdays. I'll probably set off at 08:00 - 08:30 as I only just made it last time I went up. I'll drop you a pm with my details if the time is OK?
  14. It may be best if you deal with them directly and mention that you are from the forum. You may get a better rate if you drop the wheels in yourself :) They have repaied a set of BBS's which I was going to bin as they were that bad, They came back like new :D
  15. martin im more then happy to go with you next saturday so long as ive got the cash.. will need to get my tyres taken off first though, will your buddy be able to do it?[/quote:1wm2tv4e] Andy, You usually pay on collection so it will give you a bit more time to get some funds together. My mate will be able to remove your tyres or it may be best to get BJV to do the job as they will refit them too. It' will be a fairly early start as I think they shut at midday sharp! It's only me and you coming from this area at the moment so they should all fit in my car OK.
  16. Right! I have spoken to BJV and they will do at least 15% if you pay by cash to cut down thier admin costs. They will consider a bit more discount once they have assessed each set of wheels for any work which may be involved. Please mention the Forum :norty: So who wants to take thier wheels up next week. I plan to do a run there next Saturday morning :)
  17. Bad news they are shut this Saturday as it is bank hols :(
  18. I have edited the first post to include details of all those who have expressed an interest. Please can you confirm your interest and provide me with the info (see p1) which I need to get a quote from BJV. Delivery and collection may be possible if you are en route or are prepared to get the wheel to PO8 post code. I'll let this run for another week, or slightly longer if needed
  19. What size are the wheels and do you want std finish?
  20. I've sold a Corrado on here so it can't be all that bad :) People may look on here for a Corrado which had been enthusiast owned as there are a lot of shed out there now.
  21. They look even better than they did on my Corrado. I think the drop suits them perfectly 8) 8) 8) Nice to meet you James :)
  22. Any chance of looking into mates (Forum Members) rates :) ???? depending on a few commitments saturday morning i'm hoping to get down there so i will talk to andrew and hopefully post on here over the weekend with what he says 8) Nice one. Much appreciated :) I've just pulled apart my split rims, so I'm ready to go...... I reckon I could take about 8 sets of wheels if anyone wants to get thiers done? I will be looking at going in the next month. They usually don't want payment until the wheels are collected so It should give folks time to get some funds together.
