Just picked up the kit which comes with the pins. Have removed and cleaned the headliner sun visors etc ready to drop the sun roof tomorrow. Wish me luck as it has all gone to plan so far :)
-
Cheers, I've ordered the cables from the local stealer. You don't happen to have the part No for the water plate guides? + are they expensive?

Has anyone tackled the sunroof repair? I'm going to give it ago this W/E any ideas how long it's likely to take???
-
Cheers. It took a bit of time to align, but I think it's just about straight enough to keep the rain out. Do you think that it is just a case of a broken cable or is there any other parts that usually require replacement? before I wipe the dust from my Jan 2004 Sprinter and Bentley Manual?

Just gone to close the sunroof and it has eventually died. The motor is working but only pulls from one side so the roof itself will not fully close from the up position. Any ideas on how to close it before I get the chance to do a full repair job, would be appreciated (rain is on the way :( ) I've tried the sunroof key and that doesn't work :(

Sorry to blow the theory. Check my sig and the UK Polo forum to see how many males own Polos. I remember Tor Gear placing the Corrado in the hairdresser bracket in their first reviews of the C many years ago!

I rate the Polo GTI having owned one for the past year. The idea was to have a more practical run about then the VR's. The thing about the GTI is that it is like a go-kart and you have to drive it as that  I find myself speeding (on private roads  ) when I would be observing the speed limit in the Corrado. The GTI is pretty exclusive and I see more Corrados on the road than Polo GTI's, so the residuals should be strong :) On the down side though they are fragile, common faults are corroding BBS split rims, clutch problems, weak pedal boxes which are replaced under recall, cam belt tensioner failure and you have to remove the front bumper just to change the side lights. On balance stick with the Corrado or buy both for completely different driving experiences.

L!!VRG and a black G60 which I followed in the Polo both in Waterlooville town centre area this week. :)

Thanks. Any idea of a good supplier?

I know it's not a Corrado but I need advice. After investing in a Scorpion backbox for my Polo GTI, I made the mistake of bunging a local Kwik Fit Chimp with a tenner to fit it. To cut a long story short he has taken too much off the original centre section meaning that the centre section and the new backbox are jammed tight against the mountings and making alsorts of noises. It looks like a new centre section is needed at £180!!! :( Does anyone have any ideas if there is a means of extending the offending short centre section? Cheers

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Dave, how much are the battery brackets? -
It all depends on how they're treated. Mine's on 120k still on the original timing chain with no knocks or rattles. Also on the original exhaust with loads of miles left in it :)
-
I wouldn't discount buying a VR from a dealer. A lot of them do not see them as anything special and push them out at book price. Both of my VR's came from dealers and both had documented service history and were far better and cheaper than anything which I had seen privately.
-
My tensioner has also been replaced under warranty at 47k, plus the peal box, remotes, bearings in the gearbox, CD player, crank and cam sensors, one alloy wheel horn etc. VW build quality has supposedly improved over the years. I think not :( £69.00 for a clutch from GS&F doesn't seem too bad tho'
-
Mine is exactly the same, heavy but not slipping, So I'll live with it for a while. Good body building for the left leg tho! Love the GTI but has been more expensive than a 10 year VR to run

I have just picked up my Polo GTI up from the stealers. I know, I know... £200 later for a lube service they have advised that a new clutch is on the cards at a very "reasonable" (in their opinion) £450 fitted. And we thought Corrados were expensive to run. Having fun Corrados for the past 7 years I have never experienced an estimate so high. Any ideas on what a normal garage might charge would be appreciated??

Aqua Blue C coming out of Gosport this morning "SNAP"

Standard Red VR L*** RPX on the M27 opposite Port Solent

Looks good on your signature pic. I'll keep my eye out for you.
-
Kerrinmay, I'm on the M27 and A3M most days in either the Polo or Aqua VR, usually in the inside lane, it seems to be quicker in the rush hour. The other VR is mint and is kept under blankets and in the warm, sad I know  What colour is your Corrado? I may have already "spotted" you :)
-
Also saw that one I was in my Polo, must be quite a few Corrados in the area :D
-
Del68 keep seeing you on the M27 The C is looking good 8) Saw a silver Corrado with an RS bumper on the way to Fareham 28/10 anyone on here??
-
There were genuine VAG ones made which look as about as good a a roof rack can on a Corrado. I'm not sure if they're still available from the stealers, but last time I asked they were about £130 :( They do appear on ebay from time to time but still get good money. The aftermarket (Thule I think) which are made from various parts from their range are also available but are not as pleasing to the eye IMHO. Good luck with the search took me months to get mine
-
Yes. I was in there last week and he's still providing the usual first class service. Hope it's nothing too bad :( Is your a black Corrado by any chance? I have seen three different ones in the Postmouth area in the past week.

Does anyone know who to contact in order to get on the CCGB stand at Inters, also are there any Corrados travelling from the Southampton or Portsmouth area on Saturday?
