as my charger has grenaded, and not a new one in sight can i run the car with out it, is it possible to fit a cone filter to the pipe that would connect to the intercooler exit, then find a belt that would fit and be tight running round the crank pulley and water pump, would the car run fine it's only to get me to e38 20 mins away or is it the trailer as usual, surely it will run like a low comp 8v around 90 bhp
-
hmmm jabba, simple answer go see the doctor at G-werks
-
what like the engine degreaser gunk?? (also daz you got e-mail@gwerks)
-
after my charger blowing i guess i need to remove the intercooler and check for particals, apart from shaking the thing what else should i do to make sure its debris free inside

to be honest i think all the fuel comes from the same places but if enough people boycott, esso and bp the they may have to bring the prices down to get people back

Just passing it along - may be worth a try! Seems like a good idea to be repeated.... See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil>companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down isif we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.> But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .. THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out toten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso.

found the culprit, the small belt inside snapped thus grenading the charger
-
anyone know is there a toothed belt kit for the BBM kit?
-
nope standard charger and 74mm pulley, was having all charger work done next month (WAS)
-
i was not in the car so cannot comment on driving but i have been told the most probable cause is the engine being reved the tits and the small belt inside the charger jumping a tooth, thus putting the charger out of sync inside and thus grenading itself
-
most probably gonna the the BBM charger but aint getting the silencer, neighbours gonna love me as i always take the car to work on a friday so i can get home quicker and start the wkend
-
what does the BBM sound liike then they say sounds good to me!
-
to be honest i'll get what ever daz advices as i aint fitting it!, as for the charger was going to get it done next month but o well, luckly i was'nt driving the car so they've offered to pay for the charger's worth,so on the bright side, if i do the maths £600 charger (was gonna) £service+port £500 £toothed belt kit £350, that nearly pays for the BBM after postage anyway not bad, bigger hole than the last time, but the bearing are still in
-
what about if its marked as a warreny replacement and the invoices are sent seperatly
-
there the same wicked, option 2 it is then, i have a friend who lives in florida, what are the chances i could get it sent to me as a gift :) would that save me the charges there are three different sizes of pulley 50, 53, 57 i'm thinking the 50mm for good measure, wonder what boost that would make anyone know?
-

i knew cyl no.1's compression was down, but today on the way to clean her she became ill when i stopped to get some petrol i noticed black smoke coming from the engine bay, i'm guessing the piston ring has given up and has covered the bay in oil no GTI festival and no BIG BANG for me boo-hoo i'm back in the 1.0 micra, please don't abuse me i'm fragile anyone else get fed up with the bloody money pit, don't worry i will fix it but my ears will take another bashing from the wife on how rediculos the car is and how much i've spent, and how it's going and whats next you could have had a mint camper buy now (i could agree with that one) etc
-
yeah, just no ecu, rad, i/c or driveshafts but poor at the mo so if i buy i need to sell the charger asap, only really want the block, but if i can get say 5-600 for the charger then it works out all good in the end
