1. yeah full size spare. and sorry if im being an idiot but link to their website, i cant seem to find it :bonk:
2. evening all im after a brake upgrade on my valver. had a flick around a few forums and it looks like im pointing towards audi s2 girling callipers, with g60 carriers? ive got an early 16v, and the brakes must fit under the 15" ronals im running. Could someone give me any suggestions regarding to calliper choice, carrier, hose changes, and what disks/pads? What im aiming for really is more stopping power, and something that fits nice and snug inside the wheel. thanks steven
3. mmm thanks for the responses guys. it's a difficult one to go by. i guess it's the same as most cases - you get what you pay for. a friend of mine races pick ups and his setup is nearly a thousand pound a corner which is insane. there's a line to find between handeling and comfort and lowness. but how i am at the moment, and the few scenes i hang around with it's very often form over function. i think it will be a case of trial and error with different setups until i find something better. thanks guys.
4. hello. im having a few problems with the suspension setup on my valver. the idea is to go low, like real low. so (because im skint) i bought some fleabay £150 coilovers as they advertised 120mm down. my friends have them in their polo and lupo, which are very low and the coilovers arnt too bad. After fitting them to my corrado, they are hard as hard can. like insanely hard. especially on the back. is there anyway to improve this? are there any other more expensive coilovers that will go as low and provide a better ride? would using softer springs help? i dont mind it being stiff but this is really something else! on occasion my bum leaves the seat!
5. got a picture mate? and i'm in redditch man. how much would you want?
6. got the next week off work so i can crack on with the corrado. replaced n/s door today as from when i had the car there was a dent and a few job's of rust. everything went well, it was struggle getting the new door on however with just the dog to help. while i had all the loom out i retaped alot of it up, and cleaned up a few connections with from vw contact cleaner (great stuff). here's a picture from tonight after a quick wash plans for this week are the get the bump strips off, bring the back down more and fetch the saab stickers off the wheel centers and swap them for some vw ones! Ive just bought some new indicators too to cheer the front up. :)
7. after a set of late door cards. can collect
8. thanks man. and yeah that's what i though. i wanted one very close to standard so i can strip and rebuild everything myself. so one with mechanical work needed was just what i was after.
9. instead of randomly doing updates on this, i'll put a list of how it is now, and start from there. i'll chuck in the pictures ive taken along the way too. got it running correctly after changing the ignition booster. but not after having to be towed home by my friends lupo. bad times. replaced rear badge (thanks rodmax) full stainless exhaust fitted replaced all blown bulbs new headlights fitted BRAND NEW foglights fitted :D full seats out clean vr6 steering wheel on budget coilovers fitted to go loooooooooooooooooow fixed sunroof (kind of) spent too much at vw replacing various bits of trim etc 4 slat badgeless grill (dont think i like it) fitted headunit but still on standard speakers for now made it lower fixed non operating rear spoiler made good friends with a curb --> hello borrowed wheels! two recent(ish) pics and today i spent the afternoon drilling and tapping the holes in my new wheels so i can fit the center caps. the ones with the wheels were ****, so i bought some saab ones off ebay. they're all fitted now, just need to replace the saab stickers with some vw ones. oh, and here's a cheeky snap on it parked next to the company car! so i promise to keep this all up to date now with plenty of pictures!
10. Hello I've been meaning to start a build thread for a while but never got round to it. So these first few posts will be a bit rushed to get the thread up to speed. Hope that's okay. I bought a 1.8 valver non runner with no history blind off ebay for £500 smackers back in october. Heres a few of the (awful) pictures from the ad. I got a little excited with the bidding and won  (much to my dad's distaste i must say) Went to pick it up and managed to get it started on the chaps drived, filled in the paper work, brimmed the tank and headed home which took longer than expected due to it cutting out whenever there was 0 throttle input or the revs fell below 1500. I wont bother going into details but after a few conversations with people on here and at work i pinned part of the problem down to the ignition booster. Also included to get it running/ready; dizzy plugs leads fuel filter and fasteners (old one was ****ed!) cambelt, tensioner, pump other belts flushed pas & coolant And after that i was a happy corrado driver (at last!) So now i can move onto making it mine. More to come! silverfox
11. I'll have the rack, and if you were knocking around for a bit of guidance then sure. Never done one before, so it would be quicker if you were there to show me :)
12. ive got some gmaxx rears and some koni fronts i've just taken off my valver in place for some coilovers. i could post out if you're interested?
13. I'll take fuseplate, fuses & relays clocks surround dizzy cap sunroof motor and the Fusebox under dash cover tray if it's all still available of course. I'll be able to collect next weekend?
14. dont mean to sound stupid, but the unthinkable being?
15. thanks for the responses guys. after doing a couple of miles on it, the steering has improved immensely and doesn't whine nearly as much. As for the knock i think i have narrowed it down to the suspension, but thanks for the help.
16. it's really good when people put the effort into cars instead of having the 'just scrap it attitude'.
17. today i bled the system and topped the fluid up an it seemed to sort it out. However as i was leaving to come home it starting doing it again. But by the time i got home it had stopped. So it's not very consistent. How do you go about priming the pump? thanks for the help guys.
18. thanks guys. i did that a little when i first started adding fluid to get the level but i must not have done it enough. Rep both of you :)
19. how to i get this out? leave the reservoir cap off and go lock to lock a few times?
20. Right first off i've got a 1990 1.8 valver. When i first jump in the car from cold, the power steering doesnt work, and the pump whines a bunch at low rpm. So today i flushed the fluid (which was grey and ****ty when it cam eout) and tightened the belt. That solved the starting from cold problem, but now the pump seems to whine louder, and more consistantly. Also cornering at low speeds there's a knock/bump felt through the wheel. This happens at random places throughout turning. Could this be the rack on it's way out? thanks steven
