I went from a mk3 VR6, which i still have, to the G60. For "research" purposes i took the VR6 out of storage yesterday for a run! You cant beat either car really! But i love the power of the VR6 and the sound The G60 is more edge of the seat, prob because all the suspension bushes need to be done! They are very evenly matched I got 145 out of the VR6 and 140 out of the G60, the G60 had more in it! Out of my two the acceleration feels quicker in the MK3 VR6 :oops:

I am running a standard one at the moment, but i will be shrinking :lol: over the summer! As well as the engine getting some "minor" mods internally :wink:

I am i work today and a mate has just called, his heater went burst and he is replacing it. He has all the obvious bolts out. But he cant find the ones at the base of the screen, whats there? and where do you get it from? I know its a bit of a wierd q, but my manual is at home with my car, so i can even look at it! Thanks

Has your new system got much over the dta? I like the idea of dta's launch control, but the price compared to emerald may be a bit too much

Alex, what sort of money was the DTA? Do you know what you are going to use on the new project?

It does all depend on what you want, my mate has a G60 turbo, he has a 2L 16v box in it and the car has basicly become a sprint car as a result! It is all what you are producing power wise and what you want! If your going for power, you need an LSD! thats the first thing in the car, I want a 6 speed, prob based on the 16v box, close enough ratios So there is no ideal box, just depends on the applications you want!

Hmm, might be taking a trip back to Mr Walker soon enough! Thanks Steve! Do you have much problems putting power down in that G40? Have you any sort of traction control? I hear that emerald are going to introduce a traction control system soon enough

Thanks guys, i was over with Dave Walker before and one of my mates is running emerald in a g60 turbo. I see the advantages like launch control, traction control etc the disadvantage is the cost, and as i want to maximise what i am going to get out of my motor(not going to be an everyday car) i rekon that the standalone might be a good plan! We have done jobs on my mates g60 turbo and its great the on the move adjustments you can make. Dta seems to have a slightly higher spec and the fact that emerald cant take e knock sensor makes me think it might be an option. I am just wondering if anybody on here has dta now?? Just looking for impressions of how it works for you

Is anyone running stand alone managment? I have narrowed it down to DTA or Emerald. Anyone got any recomendations? Or just inputs?

My front fogs dont work, i have tried new bulbs and fittings, also tried a new fuse Rearss work fine, but not the fronts Is this a common prob, i heard of someone elso with the same prob but dont know how they fixed it

Anybody know what sort of psi a standard G60 should put out? I connected up my boost guage last night and am getting between 5 and 7 psi Does that seem low or what? My mate is getting 10psi in his G40...... so should i be worried? :? **mod edit - moved to problems section** stevemac

try searching on ebay.de for the digifiz its the digital dash that was available in the mk2 golf. it was on 16v's too as far as i know

the volvo 4 series belt part number from qh is 6pk1250, so it is the 1250 belt!

us use odd numbers for fm freq, but in europe, well i am in Ireland, so i rekon the uk is the same, we use all freqs, odd and even! for example 100.4 fm couldnt be gotten on a us spec head unit, you could get 100.3 and 100.5! Now if it says it gets all the bandwith, go for it!
