no, its a 9a loom i am talking about all i need from it is the mfa section really, but if i can use other bits it might be easier, we will see

I am using a 2.0 16v loom as the basis for my DTA loom i have it sitting on the shelf ages and have no idea what lots of the connectors go to any more, so i am looking for pics of peoples loooms and the colours of the wires that go to things like the rev counter output, the control for the fuel pump relay and the main power to the ecu? If people dont know what they are can they post up pics of the various parts of the engine loom on their 2L valvers. Thanks and all help appreciated :lol:

Well i though i would revive this thread, after an age of not doing anything to the car, you know yourself, work and other commitments i have just pulled the car back into the garage to get stuck into it. I have fitted a Weichers cage(road legal) and polybushed everything, redone the entire breaking system and suspension It now has some seam welded wishbones too. I have done away with the Rallye FMIC, i want to get a PRO Alloy one like Olly has in his G60. I am waiting on an exhaust and a few other bits. I need to get some Vibratechnics engine mounts and the like. At the moment the car si fairly stripped to get it ready for painting Since buying a 1.8 16v as a daily run around i have suddenly gotten the urge to get the G60 back on the road Here is a pic of the cage, i am sure i have some more somewhere and will post them up again

Hi lads, i have a 1990 16v as a daily driver, when i got it i couldnt get 3rd gear, i looked at it and saw the later style bracked was in it for the selector cables(3 bolts instead of 2 and the cables sit on top of eachother) So i duely changed this yesterday, it made no difference it will go into first and fifth no problem. In fact all gears are fine except 3rd If i try to manually go into gear with the cables attached it wont go in, now i have not tried it wil the cable taken off, which i will do tonight It grates on third but wont go in. Do people think the box is dead?

my thought was to have it come down out of the top of the binnacle that the clocks sit into, the actual plastic piece and not the clocks that way it can be nice and bright and will illuminate the clocks when you hit the limiter. BLue LED's are brighter too, its just the way i am doing it, so if anyone has it done i wouldnt mind seeing some pics :lol: -

i had simular issues with my golf what i did was replace the plugs, leads and use a slightly thicker oil 15w40 or there abouts It is due to ware to be honest and not much can be done -

I have to loan a guy i know my vr's dizzy as he cant get his running and doesnt know whats up. Everything has been tried, the only 2 things are the ecu and dizzy how difficult is it to remove the dizzy? i have not even looked at it, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Does anybody know the part number or type of bolt that is used in the steering column to hold the lock and column together, i know they are shear bolts but i need to replace them as i have fitted a new lock and column to a mates car after some scum bag broke in and trashed it. Thanks

the k star is 8 injectors alright, but it all depends on what you want, 8 injectors would be great for staged power inputs but you can get digifant rechipped(jd do custom chips to the spec of your engine for not a huge am,ount of money) to match you specs Personal choice of course, i would be going EFI and loosing the mech injection and making some money back on it

Dec, i have an ABF inlet setup, that has electronic injectors. All you would need ot do is the the loom and ecu from a mk3 16v then and you could run fully programable EGI Get a suitable chip and you would be laughing, ask George how easy it is to sell 16v engines complete

he is running ti off the original mk1 engine loom and the only thing not working is the dizzy its not giving full power. I think its supposed to be a 1.3 mk2 or something but i cant remember

I have a mate who has just dropped a 16v into his mk1 i know there is a vacume advance dizzy that can be used to avoid haveing to run the full 16v loom with it Anyone knwo which model it is from? Thanks

get onto aposgil, he was breaking an early 16v that would have had no aircon and he can i am sure supply all the bits you need adn he is based in London too

G60's are your best bet, they are well up to the job /of any 16v and will not give you the same lock up issues that the Ibiza Cupra R ones are famous for
