  1. I think nitrous is a very misunderstood form of tuning, check out the highpower nitrous forum for loads of info.
  2. check out the highpower forum, they fitted a standard G60 corrado with a kit of theirs and it ran a 13.1 at santa pod, that`s pretty darn quick, quicker than a porshe turbo if top gear is anything to go by. 8)
  3. More info on the take off plate here. The one i have is made by mocal but it dosn`t have any part number on it, i think they are fairly standard.
  4. I have seen an eibach bar fitted to a vr though so maybe the later style bonnet has more clearance.
  5. i tried to fit a golf eibach front brace to my g60 but for some reason it hit the bonnet when i tried to close it. :(
  6. Tony, don`t cut into the hose that goes to the ECU, I think most ppl either take it from he vac hose that goes to the mfa or come off the inlet manifold somewhere. Baz
  7. The leak was coming from the core somewhere inside. I`v not had time to give my car a road test yet, still have to bleed my rear brakes, should be done tmrw, will let you know what temps.
  8. I finally got my oil cooler fitted up last night and ran the car up to normal operating temp with the front bumper off to check for any leaks, for some reason I put my hand on the intercooler and was surprised how warm it was considering the car had just been idling for 5 mins! I also cleaned my intercooler while I had the bumper off but there wasn`t much muck inside mine, I did find a leak though, enough for water to drip from inside the core somewhere so I guess under pressure I am loosing quite a bit of boost :(
  9. eibach anti roll bars, if it`s lowered or not will make a big difference.
  10. I`ve heard good things about fitting the 1.8T gearbox ona G60 engine but I think you have to get the driveshafts modified.
  11. You probably won`t notice any difference on a std car, helps if it`s modified though.
  12. A take off plate like this has a stat built in, I will be removing the old heat exchanger/oil cooler though.
  13. Top man Brian, thanks for the info, my indicators are all grotty and fogs cracked anyway so time for some new late style lamps. cheers
  14. why do they call these outlets `rallye`? the golf rallye has a u-bend on the charger outlet to take it back down under the charger to the intercooler. :?
  15. No luck with the mk1 cooler as it replaces the whole oil filter housing and sticks out too far, i have found a normal sandwich plate with oil stat for £39 so just some hose on top of that and we`re sorted. :)
  16. do the later type fogs/indicators site more flush with the front bumper like they do in the later bumper ? if that makes any sense :?
  17. Update on the G60 oil cooler;- The oil rad that i have came from a renault 25 automatic and fits perfectly in the gap to the left of the water rad (looking from the front of the car) even using it`s existing rubber mount! looking through the gap where it will fit at the oil cooler, i can see no problems with fitting a sandwich plate and hose lengths should be no more than 600mm each. The problem with the coolant hoses to the old oil cooler can be overcome by fitting golf gti 8v (later PB engine) hoses which don`t have the oil cooler take off pipes, you need the one from the w/pump to the front of the head and water pump to metal pipe that runs up to the heater matrix. I will post up some pics in a few days when it`s all in place.
  18. hey maybe it`s the next big trend,i could put some kitchen taps on my coolant hoses :?
  19. cheers for that, teach me for only ever looking in tuning and mods :?
  20. wayhey 8) where`s gpc`s phone no.
  21. Can you fit the later spec indicators and fogs into the earlier bumper then?
  22. Thanks guys, a mate has just told me he has a sandwich plate froma mk1 so i`ll try and see if that fits, I think the problem with the silencer box depends on which direction you run the hoses.
  23. The ends on the cooler have normal swaged ends so should be fine with clips, it was just the pressure I was worried about. Somebody must have an oil pressure gauge on thier G60 surely. :?
  24. I got a cooler similar to the one in the pics at the breakers, sandwich plate c/w stat and pipe work cost me £50, cheaper than £120 for a kit! The reason I asked about oil pressure is that I will have to use hose clips on the oil cooler pipes and have been told these won`t take more than 100psi. Baz
