  1. Continued........... Block all painted and cleaned starting to re-assemble. Got it all back in! And the finished masterpiece! A little before and after! So yer, all up and "running", by that i mean it ticks over fine, but the fuel cuts at 3500 rpm, This is apparently due to the ****ty chip VF-engineering provide, so this is now on hold until i have the money for Vince at stealth to make me a custom one, absolutely gutted about it, and seriously ****ed of at VF/ the suppliers for wasting me about £400. But hey ho, these things happen and it will be all the more worth while when it does work! the race is on to get it sorted before the RR day! ill keep the thread up dated!
  2. Crinkle black starter motor. Little refurb job on the fan unit, sanded down and sprayed the lot. guess what finish... haha Charger test fit. Finished fan unit. Finished rocker cover, crinkle black'd it, then polished up the faces on the "sticky up bits" Some lume work and repairs, SO impressed by how clean and tidy it all was in the head, the schimmel cams and chain still looking like new. The Competition clutch billet fly wheel! And the Competiton Clutch Stage 2 Clutch to match :bonk:
  3. And after some elbow grease! I GOT THE GLUE OFF!!! WOOOO Crinkle black fanimold.... lots of crinkle black went on. Engine, gear box and much more got steam cleaned sanded down and re-sprayed. Crinkle black alternator. ;) The ally rocker cover i found! looked a lot worse to start with.
  4. So basically, every day last week was spent on the C, removing the entire engine, breaking it down, cleaning and spraying everything, repairing and taping up lume, up grading many many things, then putting it all back in excluding the induction kit but including the supercharger and kit. Rather than me boring you to death, i just documented the majority of it on my iPhone. So yer, enjoy. Arrival at the OBD-Works unit. VERY impressed with the reinforced sump! haha Front end off Fanimold and few other bits off Needed some TLC Engine out. As with everything else in desperate need of some TLC.. the state of it! Some pre cleaned shots of the bay.
  5. Anyone who wants them? £80 collected from Oxford. Clutch was supplied and fitted by stealth January 2012 done less than 8k miles. Have invoice if you want proof. Sale due to me changing it to a stage 2 CC clutch and lightened flywheel when i fitted the charger Pictures available. IM GIVING THEM AWAY!
  6. Ok had to use the cold air feed to space the maf away from the charger, so the kit is now excluding that. So £100 posted, baring in mind how little miles this has actually covered!
  7. recon it could be the ecu/map? Im suspicious of the chip provided being for a 2.8 mk3
  8. finding loads of people have had the same problem, someone must know the answer?
  9. does anyone know if this could be spark plug related? or ht leads?
  10. haha. no chance bro. yer its literally had me to my limit. i just cant understand it.
  11. so i fitted the whole super charger kit, all was running well on tick over, did a few tests all was well. then when i went for the test drive every time boost cut in or it went upto 3 and a half to 4 thousand rpm is just cut power, like hitting a brick wall. as if someone had jammed the brakes on, so much infect it shredded the threads of the front engine mount bolt. done vag com all is well, maf is fine, any ideas? anyone had this before? really ****ing me off and cant figure it out.
  12. Has anyone done this before? From what I can see there shouldn't be any problems in putting the mk3 golf aluminium rocker cover on in lue of the Corrados plastic one. But if anyone knows any reason why it doesn't work or can't be done please let me know. All the best. :) Hand job.
  13. The forum section is titled "engine bay" i would include the underside of the bonnet in that category. Also loving the Fing user name.. all the email notifications coming addressed to " hand job charlie" fantastic ha
