Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road
EJ Taylor replied to Hofmiester's topic in Members Gallery
Yer bodywork is always a tough one. I had mine done recently. Luckily once again I'm friends with the guys doing it. So after it was done and I inspected it. I took it back and we had another day just flaring back a few bits again and polishing it. Paints one of those things that will make or break a car. Did u go for the original colour or something wild? -

No idea how i missed this reply, sorry man i wasnt being rude! thats absolutely great help. As far as fitting goes, luckily one of my closest friends owns a VAG only tuning company OBD-Works so he has made a free week for me and i booked it of work so we are spending next week together taking the entire engine out, doing the clutch flywheel charger kit, tucking the loom spraying many bay components etc etc... so it should be a fun week and ill learn alot along the way. He built some truly gorgeous show winning cars so its nice to have the confidence in proven quality workmanship. (i always rate him with the highest regards) check out his page! :) This is RUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE! make me one please :D thanks again for the advice and help hof that kinda sh1t really does help! -

Also i did some research on this car, the guy goes to college with a friend of mine, (who is very clued up) and he confirmed what i thought, that this car is mint throughout, also since speaking to friends about the car one is now also interested in buying, i have also heard of it poping on other forums and car pages, so if your going to buy it, act fast. From all i have heard you will not regret it. I had a similar situation when i was scanning the market, the famous C5 OEM was up for grabs and i never bought it, regretted it ever since. All the best.

Can always wind the coilvers up. Prior to the Cams and all the performance mods i was seeing between the 38 - 43 mpg on motorways. Not surprising baring in mind the whole reason for the mass production of the V6 engine was for its smoothness, great long distance performance and reliability.

Another person charging over the 3k mark, good lad! matching orange with the wheels though LOL, "Legal under car lighting" haha. That poor C needs to go to a good home.

"Apparently vr6 motors dont like these fancy irridium plugs" An "Apparently" being used there, but make of that what u will... that's probably something someone once heard of a guy who told a guy bla bla... however i have ran them since i had the car an used them in every car i own. Your call though bro. I'm sure NGK just rate them higher and charge more for the fun of it, :bonk: To be fair only so much difference a plug can make, i just like to have the best.

Seen this car around, its a lovely car, and well looked after, the guy sounds to me like my kinda guy, seems like he hasnt cut any corners. He has replaced all the things that normally go on that mileage so less worries for you all round, and 138k is low mileage on a VR Corrado as well, that along with the FSH is a very good thing. After reading the add it seems like a seriously nice C, and the seller is someone who will regret selling it at that price. If im honest mate, if i had 3k i would buy it tonight going by the add. BE WARNED though, and trust me when i say, that Corrado is not going to be for sale for long. Another little thing i noticed is in one of the photo's he has blue taped the rear arches and the front, this is a clear sign of someone who really does value the condition on there car. When i saw it at edition a few years back the ppaint really was brilliant, ALSO this is one of mine and many others favourite colour C. A good find man dont mess about get in contact. In other words, BUY BUY BUY! ;)

These plugs.. ALLL DAAAAAAAY LOOOOOOOOOONG http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-x-NGK-Iridium-Spark-Plugs-VW-GOLF-Mk3-2-8-VR6-1995-/330528702079?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cf50bbe7f :afro: and i have heard good things about magnecore ignition leads. Also cleaning the TB is worth doing for how easy it is to do.

thanks for the help/ information chaps, really do appreciate it! I run Castrol EDGE 5W-30 and the car runs perfect. Never drops any oil or over heats, this is due to many new parts added and things replaced i do admit. Will that oil be ok with the charger? Hof are you saying since the chargers been fitted you haven't had an oil cooler and its been fine? Eventually i will do this, but for the next month or so i will be running it without (only is thats an option?)

devon newbie, new wheels + update (pic heavy)

Bro, for an amateur your pretty good! My one complaint is i did spot a ford in that video. Im sure you know what im talking about! I also noticed your after some front speakers... want me to see what i can get you them for? get some sick JL ones? or what ever brand you want as long as we have an account with them. (I recommend JL though) although Alpine do make some nice 5.25 SPG components at a good price. let me know. -
yer mines the vortech one as well, after research i made the conclusion its the better one to go for (sorry rotrex boys) is yours the stage 1 6psi or the stage 2 8.5psi?
-
A pleasure bro, I like the approach your taking, on the handling side of things, i always go on about how sick the KW V2's are, they changed the car, yes there the best part of 1k, but so worth it. also doing the full poly kit replacing all the CV boots sub frame, top mounts (the lot) just tightened it up so much. decent tyres are also something that often get over shadowed. And mines already got cams and full SS system so will be a good example of the potential of yours. i just hope it doesnt all go bang haha

I only run a 40mm on mine anyway as a 90mm one would be literally on the floor, its a tough one.... you recon bonnet lifters would help?
-
hmm. i have seen people cut out the number plate recess and put mesh in there. might be an idea. tends to look barry though.. i am going to have to think of a solution for this as mine already gets very hot. Where did you get your oil cooler from?

nice dude, what colour is it? I'm struggling to tell? So what's first on the list? -
THIS IS MORE LIKE IT!!!!! haha, this is more like the thread i expected, i did wonder why your corrado ownership was so inactive. Maybe change the link in your signature to the car you actually own? :bonk: love all of your mods though, what you have done and your attention to detail. So carrying on our previous conversation, i may have missed it in the build, but am i right in thinking you are still yet to do the fanimold? and 263's as well? both those i would do prior to charging! are you thinking of coming on the RR day at stealth? if so ill be happy to take you for the quick blast so u can get an idea weather the charger is what you want or not. As you may or may not of read mine cost me the best part of 4k in the end so its something you really do want to be sure of before you buy one haha.
-
dude after reading your comment on that other thread i have had a look through your build, liking all your movements.. on the subject of power gains... have you looked into a SS Fanimold yet? and high lift cams? also iridium spark plugs, IG leads, also a Cold air fed intake? few things to consider.... also maybe i missed it somewhere.. but is this a vr6? i thought it was but saw a reference to u getting a valver chip?
-
cut the bull**** lol what did you pay? :afro:
-
Yer bro, i thought if im guna charge it im guna do it proper, so we are taking the front end of and taking the engine out tucking the bay etc, so i thought while its out i may aswell do the clutch, then i thought i might aswell do the flywheel as im doing the clutch lol then i thought well might aswell do the water pump as i got new pullies with the kit, and then it just went on and on to much much more, the list has gotten silly, hence i booked the whole week of next week haha. Other than the recent clutch did the charger give you any more issues? would be nice to have a heads up!
