  1. Remove the ball(s) dude, seriously. What are you waiting for? You genuinely sound like a nice bloke mate but nice ain't gonna cut it if you want this to stop. If they're out there kicking the ball against your car take it away from them EVERY SINGLE TIME until they get the message. Give the ball back to the good-for-nothing parents and explain to them if a ball touches my car I WILL take it off them and you WILL pay for damages. The kids clearly have no boundaries and limitations as a result of sh*te parenting no doubt (WTF is wrong with parents these days, I would have got licks if I did this as a kid!?) Do the neighbors not have a back garden anyway- Who the f*ck plays on a drive way?? Failing that, I agree with WULLIE - If the above doesn't work, kick balls against their windows and front door in retarded manner - If you can aim ball at neighbors faces then great, OR you could simply roll it into the road and watch the kids run after it...
  2. Great, because that's what I ordered ;) Replacement rocker cover gasket set and inlet manifold gasket in the post - Will tackle this tomorrow. Any useful guides on how to replace these anywhere? Looks pretty straight forward to replace them but always good to get the heads up on stuff like this Cheers
  3. Do you happen to know what type of inlet manifold gasket is used on the 9A - Is it the oval type or the 50mm round type? Found a place that will send them out on Saturday delivery (want to sort this this weekend) so I have to get my order in to them in like 30 minutes!
  4. OH man!!! That's awesome thanks, That's mine alright - She sitting a little LOW in those pics, I've since corrected the stance to improve handling etc (had to be done was way too low, it dragged it's knuckles everywhere it went!) makes for a much nicer ride. Plus done a whole heap of other stuff to it since
  5. You're probably right Jim, buying directly from VW could be safest bet - Will check costs and lead time. Funny thing about all this is that what should have been a simple plug + HT lead swap has now turned into a MUCH bigger job... I found oil all over plug 1 (body and electrode), plug 4 wasn't great either. Think cam cover gasket might be blown, and possibly valves seals as well :C Any advice on replacing these, tools required etc?
  6. Managed to have another butchers at this last night - turns out the thread size on the new plugs were correct (12mm) but the nut (butt end of plug) was too big hence why it couldn't fit through cam cover hole. Halfords not only sold me the wrong plugs but the wrong socket too! No wonder I've been scratching my head over this too. Anyway I'll have to order new plugs to ensure they're correct. Purplebagheera - Thanks these look great, pretty much exactly what I'm after except (but man I wish I wasn't this fussy...) I want them in black. Blue will look odd in the bay. To confirm, HT leads will need to have a pre-fitted guide sensor (AKA pickup or impulse sensor) AND knock sensor (fitted to lead 4) to allow for a straight swap?
  7. Sounds like a right pain in the arse I'll look forward to that one cheers, but then I hadn't expected it to be straight forward (if only!). Just tried to fit new Bosch spark plugs on my lunch break and my 20mm spark plug socket (that fits spark plug) was too big to fit through the holes in the cylinder head cam cover! I reckon I've been sold the wrong fecking plugs :C The box says 10mm plug but just measured the damn thread on the thing and it looks like 12mm - wrong plug in the right box, no wonder the socket's too big!! I'll never buy from Halfords ever again... Wouldn't happen to know correct thread size for 16V 2.0 spark plug?
  8. Great piece of reading you've put together here and great build, not to mention the amount blood sweat and beers that have no doubt gone into this :thumbleft:
  9. No worries, they're pretty damn comfy and look awesome (very high spec OEM). They look even better with matching leather door cards Joby - Agreed, original seats look dated.
  10. Just stumbled across this thread... Yes, it's possible - I have black leather Audi TT seats in mine, new frames were built to mount them ;) http://wiki.the-corrado.net/tt_seats_fitting.html
  11. Thanks Jim, Presume the end of cycle reference sensor isn't part of the HT lead then - Hence why it needs to be re-attached to cylinder 4 HT lead?
  12. The Pursuit of Happyness - 9/10. A struggling salesman (Will Smith) takes custody of his son as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional endeavor - A stark reminder that happiness is often earnt.
  13. Ok So I've said in a previous post that my C 92' 16V 2.0 (9A) is intermittently misfiring - Which is still happening from time to time (f*cking weird). Think the misfiring could be down to carbon build up on the spark plugs / bad HT leads etc ( i bet they've never been changed) so I'd like to replace the whole lot to be sure. Most high end HT leads have a 10 year life span, considering the car's 20 years old it's a sure bet. I've already got a new set of Bosch plugs plus a 14mm spark plug socket so good to go here. What I do need though is a new set of HT leads - Preferably with the cylinder 4 end of cycle sensor / pick up sensor I think it's called, already installed (9A engines only) Looking at Magnecor 7.0 - 8.5mm - See below http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/ignition-leads/car/volkswagen/corrado/1996/2-0-16v/magnecor-7mm-performance-ignition-leads-black Managed to find these slightly cheaper at £155.00 delivered at DC Performance http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/617880/volkswagen/magnecor-7mm-ignition-leads/mgn-47516.html Anyone got any other recommendations?
  14. Yes, me too. Well corrected! :D
  15. Never understood why someone would want a 20 year old First aid kit... !! I just discovered I had a warning triangle in the rear seats of my car - can only presume it's original?
  16. Gotta love a straight through, good work ;) For those of you who haven't twigged in his last post - decatting or removal of centre box on your exhaust is an MOT failure. Dodgy MOT testers only if you want to do this!
  17. Old pic. Weird though huh, how you're trawling through a thread and you happen to stumble on your OWN CAR posted by previous owner! I've made all kinds of improvements since this was taken (owned for over a year now) and now she's running better than ever. If previous owner is reading this - Get in touch
  18. Dave - I'd like one of these. PM sent
  19. Hi Dave,

I'd like to buy one of your short shifters asap. What's the lead time on these at the moment?

If you could get back to me confirming the above and all costs / paypal details etc that would be great.

    Cheers,

    Ten Ton

  20. Great build, did you build the engine from scratch using new parts or did you re-condition everything?
  21. Here you are: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-original-early-front-grill-535-853-653-/280916430776?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4167ec8fb8
  22. Good point thanks, I hadn't considered these. I've got new plugs going in anyway so will give HT leads the once over
  23. I have an intermittent problem that rears it's head from time to time - This morning has to have been the worst case... One minute the car's driving beautifully, it's quick on the gas, smooth, and kicking butt. Next minute the car will begin to mis-fire when I put my foot on the gas? The result is 3-4 second delay on the accelerator followed by sudden "catch" as the engine returns to normal. It'll do this for about 10 - 15 minutes then out of no-where, it'll return to normal. Thoughts: Carbon build up on spark plugs / mixture issue maybe? (Thanks Nick & Pete for the friendly banter last week! Will def be checking this out) Blocked CAT / exhaust issue - Sounds like the car's choking when it mis-fires. Sometimes if I give it enough gas and get the revs right up it sorts the problem, not always though. Oil in the distributor perhaps? C 92' 16V 2.0 (9A)
