Not a huge amount to report. Some general tidying up, refresh of the brakes, experimenting with set-up, tyre sizes, types etc. Good news is the car is getting faster, new PB at Knockhill at the weekend: A quick pic before we headed off to the track:

Pop down any time. Out at Knockhill this Saturday for a wee test, 6pm to 8pm. Same day as SLS and British Sprint Championships so a full day of action on.

Was a custom build from Jabba so spec list is huge but highlights are: Forged JE Pistons - 82.5mm Scat H-beam Rods Gasflowed Head Inconel and Nimonic valves Uprated bearings and bolts all round Elring Bottom End Gaskets Baffled Sump Turbo - IHI VF22 Hybrid JabbaSport Exhaust Manifold - Ceramic and ported Turbo Intake Pipe - CNC Adapter & Silicone Intake New Turbo Downpipe 550cc Injectors with adaptors Bosch 044 Uprated Fuel Pump Emerald K6 ECU running switchable maps Engine was built to take high power but with the intention being to run it at lower power to keep reliability for racing. After run in, it was mapped to approx 370 bhp and 360 lb/ft torque. Now things have loosened up a bit, it feels a bit more punchy and I will try and take it up to c. 400 bhp over the winter.

Wow, haven't updated this in a while. Now got a trusty 20vT under the bonnet courtesy of Jabba, Quaife Tran-X diff and new AST coilovers. Mighty fine job they did too. Here's a wee vid from the weekends racing at Knockhill having some fun with another Corrado, Escort Cossie and Impreza.

You'll mostly only ever hear of problems on forums etc. in my experience, I personally wouldn't read too much into it, particularly when another competing company tries to put people off. If you decide you want to get work done, speak to folk who have done similar and gauge their views, don't base it on internet reading alone or you'll end up going to no-one!

I'll be selling a G60 Turbo engine, 275 BHP and c. 270 lb/ft out of the box if of interest. Very reliable and pretty much a straight swap in. To add some context to this, I'm having a 1.8 20vT race engine built and you can easily get into 5 figures on a new build....very easily.
-
No worries, hope you get it sorted.

I have a G60 Turbo engine that I'll be moving on soon as I've gone down the 1.8 20v route. Jabba built and dyno'd in December at 275 bhp / appx 270 lbft. If of interest let me know.

I'm looking to extend the arches on the C and make up some custom side skirts. Has anyone found a generic arch that works well with Corrado fitment? I'm not going to use "bolt on" universal arches as they don't seem to work that well with the rear. Would rather modify a Berg Cup type arch and have it properly bonded and blended. Just going for a bit of a flatter arch shape with some extra width, not too wide. If anyone has any supplier contacts that would be appreciated, cheers.

Thanks. May as well do both sides. Any pointers to where I can buy decent inner and outer CV's?. Ta.

Hi all, There's a bit of play, say 1cm or so on my passenger side drive shaft. Is it likely that I only need to replace the CV joint or both shaft and CV? If anyone has any pointers to where I can buy the best quality shafts and CV's that would be appreciated as I intend to replace both sides. Thanks.

For heavy/racing use? Currently running Willwood Superlight 310mm floating disc setup on front and OEM rears with uprated discs and pads. Car weighs appx 1,000 kg. Tried various pads. Would like a bit more stopping power. Would consider changing wheel size and hubs if needs be. Two questions please: 1. What are the best available options for front and rear upgrade? 2. Would upgrading rear and properly biasing improve the braking performance noticeably? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks PM'd. Ideally, I don't want to change 3rd or 4th at all, they're perfect as they stand. That's why I'd like to swap out 1st and 2nd only.
-
It's for a race car, and at the track it's used most at a longer 2nd gear would be of benefit. With the turbo, it can be quite hard to maintain traction in 1st and 2nd gears without lighting up the (damn expensive) tyres, so longer ratios might just help that out a bit and knock out a couple of unneccesary gear changes.
-
I run a 02J box, which I think is a Golf VR6 box (think code is FCF). I would like a slightly longer 1st and 2nd gear and having checked the various ratio's in 02J's, I would like the ratios from other 02J boxes (various codes have right ratio's I'm looking for). Given the housing is the same, is it easy enough to take 1st and 2nd gears from another 02J box and drop them into my 02J box? Cheers!

Hi, do you know if these are 7" or 7.5" width? Also, what offset are they? Thanks.

Guys, anyone got anything that would fit Corrado? Thanks.

Corrado Carbon Fibre Bonnets - Group Buy - LWS Design
HummuH replied to Andrew_LWSDesign's topic in Parts for Sale
You can go further than that! Andrew and Lewis at LWS very kindly helped me out with a single skin fibreglass bonnet for my Corrado race car recently. Think that weighed in at about 2.5kg. -
Cheers, any recommendations for front ARB? Like I say, I don't know the dimensions of the current one but it must be about as thick as you could possibly get on a Corrado. ---------- Post added at 1:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:26 PM ---------- Thanks, I played around with pressure a lot. I get c. 8/9 psi of a lift from cold to warm on the front, about 5 psi on the rear. Best pressure for the front in the dry is about 21 psi cold I have found. I'm gonna lift the height a bit say 10mm to 15mm, run a smaller front ARB and start at -1.5 front and -1 rear and see how that feels as a starting point.
-
Brilliant, thanks. I'm running 16" to fit the 310mm Wilwoods up front so might work.
-
Thanks. Take it OEM bearings fit fine? Any comments on the quality of the discs? I intend to use them for track work. What calipers are you using? Ta.
-
Cheers. Looks like Eurospec Sport offer a kit for upgrading 226mm to 280mm 4x100 using the std calipers (so would assume MkIV calipers could work also). Kit is appx. £275 before and taxes and shipping and includes discs, bearings, hubs, carriers etc. Might give that a shot and see how it goes.
-
Guys, can anyone clarify what other parts are needed to run this conversion with 286mm discs rather than the std 226mm discs? Is it possible? The 286mm discs are listed as std size for a Golf IV 2.0 TD GT. Cheers.

Just for info, I saw one of these items in the flesh today. Wouldn't go anywhere near it personally. Welding was not good at all.

Cheers. Gonna have a look over the weekend and see if there's any clues!! Yep got the heavy flat spoked MO5 wheels. Currently looking for a lighter 16x7.5 set but not a huge amount of options.
