    Charging a 16v

again to back up whats been said this isnt very hard and if the correct parts are collected before hand the car will be off the road for a minimal time :) as for mine the reason its taken so long is due to ive been very anal with some parts (exhuast and fuel rail mainly) and ive had a few family things ive had to have put infront of the car this year :( but if i wasnt so silly wanting to do all the work myself and given the car to a expert like John for example, he would do the work to a high standard and alot quicker than me :D lol you just need to see his car/engine bay to see the quality of his stuff/work :D
  3. I 2nd that :D ive seriously been think about it for a while, if i really need to get a house or shall i put my name down for one of those babies :( but think ill give it a while and try and get one later on in life before "the familly thing" kicks off lol   Just another car to add to my list Porsche GT3 & Astin Martin DBR9   p.s according to sources its meant to sound as mean or meaner than what it look  yeah baby yeah    :D

  9. If your looking to turbo a 1.8 16v engine you better of getting a manifold from either http://www.hgp-turbo.de or http://www.8vturbo.com they do a stronger cast one unlike the turbo technics one and you can also run a T3 turbo which will produce alot more power than a T25 Also youll need to get yourself some Audi quattro pistons as they fit straight in and lowers the compression so a nice leverl. Once thats all in you should be able to see about 300 bhp easily and german guys have got 16v turbo to run 500bhp +
  10. Hello guys I need to get a inlet gasket for my mates driver which we just put carbs on (by the way it sound flipping awesome better than any vr sound IMO) Anway as it has a universal inlet for all 8v we where wandering if VW ever produced a inlet gasket that had a metal outer surface to reduce heat transfer from the head to the inlet manifold. If not we will get standard 8v gti or standard ones :) Thanx in advance
  11. Well done glad u think its all worth it as for the bee sting get urself a gsf or eurocarparts one as they are alot better than original ones

  15. mate got no idea lol hence my questions lol
  16. no no fuel injector see on the standard system it goes from Tank-Fuel pump-Vapour Seperator-Carb Carb then has a line out Carb-vapour seperator-pressure regulator-back to fuel tank What most people do is just leave the vapour seperator T piese the fuel line going to the carb with the return line and leave it that way as the webbers dont have a line out but thats to messy have a look :- http://www.elcats.ru/audivw/vag5.asp?su ... 00&cid=110
  17. well considering a new facet pump only set you back about £35 and the scrappy wants that for a standard unit at the back i think he would prefe going for the pacet :) also i cant see anywhere on the carbs for the fuel return pipe hence why im guessing you need it
  18. sadly his engine is tuned hence why he has gone down the twin carb route he has had the head work done and has a 258 cam in there from those lovely people Schrick :D so im gussing he has to go down the electric fuel pump route??
  19. Hello guys a mate of mine wants to put his twin webers on this weekend and its on a 1.8 8v driver engine, so mecahnical fuel pump. He has already been told he might have to change to electric carb fuel pump but that doesnt bother him what we need to know is does he need to but a regulator on there??? and does he have to get rid of the vapor pot sitting at the front of the engine???? or is he ok just going straight from the mech pump to the carbs??? Thanx in advance
