well depends how far and how good your propare to pay For example i know a excellent body shop near cambridge but wont touch mods but then im taking mine to Bournemouth
-
Hello all Just been reading the thread about the A/F meter and I have one already in my car but its never been hooked up What lamba sensor can I get so that I can use it??? Also im looking to finish off getting all the parts i need for the 16v head rebuild for my mate and I was wandering if :- You can clean up all the old parts and stick it back in??? or who and where would be the beast place to get them tappets ans springs??? thank you in advance
-
no the kit from gsf is just the discs and pads zimmeman discs with pagid fast road pads The ur carriers ull have to find of a breakers yard but i know one guy on pvw sells them other wise you use everything else off your car
-
trust me mate alot cheaper than trying to get g60 setup and does the same job Ive been running this setup for 1 year and im very happy thou i want more stopping power now hence the brembo kit :D the only difference between doing it this way of the g60 setup is you need 16v pads as the g60 ones are 2mm thicker so you would need to rub them down to fit other wise there identical If you want to go one better ive heard that Audi Ur setup uses 2 piston calipers wich are meant to work aswell but ive never done it myself
-
thats very true well hope to see the car back on the road and it better be mint lol
-
Guys i know this has just been mentioned but the best mod i did was get the Audi Ur caliper carriers for £50 Which pushed my 16v calipers out to use the g60 discs and u still use the 16v pads and bingo alot better breaking  :D also gsf do a very good kit for about £100
-
oh so your the irish lads :D hello mate lol did you make it back ok???? cool aslong as you know the dangers of oversizing etc
-
yeah i was?? did u come to my ace cafe? also running the biggest bore poss can be dangerous as it will weaken the walls etc
-
why do you want to use 84.5mm pistons?? what are you trying to achieve?
-
when u mean short block are you talking about a 1.8 16v? 2L 16v or 1.8 g60? From what i know for the 16v engines its 83mm-85mm pistons but its not really worth it im personally running 83mm vw motorsport pistons
-
Hello Gavin My car started off as a 1.8 16v engine but i bought a 9A engine and had that tuned the hell out of it lol if u every want bigger cc from what ive heard and know from my own its always better to start with a 9A block than a kr one also ive know a few guys to run the k-star and yes it smoothed it out but they all said it wasnt worth paying that much money i guess its all down to everyone taste personally i would get a digi system out of a 8v gti and put it on a 16v
-
mate get in contact with Majik he has a 16v breakin and i know he has a fan and rad in great condition also corrado share alot of parts with golf but sadly not the rad as in a golf its taller alex 2.1 16v
