  5. Hello Adam Are you looking to run twin cards??? If so lucky on the 1.8 16v engines it kind of easy. Firsat of all you can run the ignition module/coil etc still of your car and just remove the mechanical fuel injection system As for carbs youll need dellerotto or webber 45's which are more than enough available 2nd hand on ebay.co.uk and on performancevwmag.com the hard bit will be the inlet manifold that come up time to time but new i think they are about £400 In total your looking at £1000 to have it all running etc
  6. If you really want cheap konis then get the FK's from what i understand they are konis without the lable Me personally im running Konis that cost me £650 but then i had alot of work done on the car

    16v mods

Hello all Most of you know me im running a 2050cc 16v 9A engine which is producing 189 bhp on ripped engine and gearbox mounts and ive been told its prob about 192-194 bhp at the most. Personally i think its producing some nice power :D but i know there is more to be realised but still keeping the car driverable i.e torque etc The main bit is the inlet as ive already sorted out the ehuast manifold and down pipe. There is a very interesting thread on vwvortex 16v forum (i would post the link but work blocks out vwvortex  ) about the inlet. First of all it states that the volume size of the inlet should be 75% of your engine size volume and also when this guy open up his inlet (he used the top part of the 42mm and the middle part of thge 50mm inlet) he found alot of cast little blocks that can be grinde out or ported. Its very interesting read especially discussing the twin butterfly design over one butterfly option on the throttle bodies. So the question i post out to you tech guys is it true about the 75% inlet volume?? Also a idea ive had is adding a secound or larger throotle body that open up only at full throotle to be able get more air in quickly very similar in principle those performance design inlet system for vr's that have the flap inside thank in advance for any comments and any disscussion is welcome.
  11. Hello Nick I personally only live near you in enfield north london and go alot to Steve's VW in south woodford whhen i need parts Anyway for body shops in our areas i would say non!!! that i would trust Seriously mines going for a full bare metal resray and its going to cost nearly half what you got qouted, but thn mines in bournemouth. I has already been resprayed by someone in west london and the finish is crap!!!! hence why its having all of it take off again. The only people i would say is close to us worth touching your car are on the a10 near cambridge as they restore classic cars and do amazing work but are not into modifications hence why i didnt go with them Otherwise ull just have to trust word of mouth.
