  1. Hi mate, Got your voicemail a little while ago and I completly forgot to call you back, my bad! Will give you a shout in the new year.. anyway great progress (are you really doing it all again..lol!).. Anyway have a lovely x-mas/new year and say hi to Alex.. will no doubt be in your neck of the woods sometime next year. All the best Ben
  2. Small update. Unfortunatly for Guy I've recently purchased a house so haven't managed to get over to his to finish the fabrication. Also its far too cold to be messing around with cars. We are both fair weather mechanics ;-) Anyway we have decided to reduce the size of the lower half of the downpipe and use a 3" exhaust system. After doing some maths it became apparent that for the target horsepower a 4" exhaust wasn't needed. Anyway apart from that we have done nothing. Things to do are sort the fueling system out Finish fabrication (almost there!) Wire the car up .. then start the car! Worthersee 2010 here we come.. hopefully a decent update soon! Ben
  3. Inlet is a cast ali HPA/HGP copy, cams are standard oem for driveability. The owner wants a seriously powerful but very drivable car. So cams are left alone and the turbo has been matched to ensure good bhp but minimal lag. It looks big but its actually quite small for this engine. Hope that helps.. Ben
  4. Hi matey.. how goes it and hows the corrado!?! Saw it a little while ago at the phirm and Tim's work looked very impressive! Yeah Guy's R32T will be so much fun! All the best.. Ben
  5. Small update.. Exhaust manifold finiahed (tacked), wastegate fitted and 4" downpipe almost there.. will see if I can get hold of a pic under the car so you can see the tightness of the downpipe ;-) Pics -
  6. Yes.. it will be a 4" exhaust all the way through. Going to modify the rear Milltek silenser to be 4" so we can keep the OEM tailpipes. B
  7. Building it for about 600bhp, yes! What it will end up I don't know. B
  8. We had a good day of fabrication today. Made half the exhaust manifold and the 'small' down pipe.. Another teaser... :norty:
  9. I'm afraid so.. tomorrow we are building the exhaust manifold, downpipe and finishing the boost pipes. I might be able to post a couple more pics up tomorrow ;-) B
  10. Ok so I don't have any project of my own at the moment but my modding appetite is being kept occupied with bulding an R32 Storm for one mate and helping another with this an R32 (Mk4) turbo.. but not an off the shelf crappy kit.. this is the proper deal! Anyway I couldn't resist posting a couple of teaser pics.. (with his permission more will follow..!) Enjoy! Ben
  11. I'm suprised you guys don't recognize the engine! lol Congrats chap.. this is an awesome engine and I'm so glad its going to another corrado nut! Look after it ;-) Need any help with anything just shout Ben
  12. Hi all.. Thanks for the posts.. Yes there is still a few things to sort before it goes to its owner. Heat shield being one of them Pete ;-) Just had no time to finish this project off. It was happening very fast at the beginning of the year but the car is now located at my folks and I've only managed to get back there for about 3 weekends since Feb! Thus the slow progress, but its not far away now. Glad you all enjoyed the vid(s). Those engines sounds truly amazing!! Some pics from the mapping weekend below. Update next weekend hopefully.. Want to get all the lights, handbrake, finish wiring the dash (rpm, speedo, water temp left to do), fit ARB, tidy engine bay and fix ECU into position..
  13. Be very interested in that Kip!!!! PM me if you have one kicking about.. have notes waiting chap. Thanks Ben
  14. No idea!! But I'm retiring from doing other peoples engine conversions etc.. I would like to spend some time on my own thing for a while.. But PM me if your dead interested?! lol
  15. Glad you've got it up on the forum buddy! Why haven't we been getting these updates over the email ;-) B
  16. Its been a long while but I've had time to get it ready for mapping and me/friend mapped it on a mates farm this Saturday gone. Chuffed as.. these are the results - :-)
  17. Bit of an update... Sold the mk4 Golf.. got a good offer and really I need to buying a house so money's gone towards boring house deposit... My old engine (340bhp 1.8T) is currently in another corrado and up for sale.. first page on pistonheads - corrados. The black one, only 1 pic at the moment.. but good value! Got something lined up project wise thats going to blow all of your minds.. may take me a while to build but I've started the first steps.. i.e. teaching myself CAD and 3D modelling ;-) Chow! Ben
  18. No worries mate about the lights, I no longer own the car so don't worry about the lights, I may even have some kicking about at home. Yeah the car looks fresh and will be good fun to drive once finished. Mapping is taking place on the 5th of June so hopefully the new owner will get it MOT'd pretty soon after. I have a few things to finish off but generally speaking its almost finished. Hasn't been a too bad project to work on, the R32 engine conversion was easy enough, wiring wasn't much fun but I hate doing it and the bodywork was just a couple of weekends work. Will take some nice pics and vids when its finished. Thanks for all the comments guys.. Ben
