  1. i have had a very similar problem to you recently.

see this thread: Del's Clutch Problem Thread.

Unless you are going to do this yourself....

First thing you need to do is take it to someone that knows VW's, cos most back street garages will fob you off with a gearbox out quote.

When you find the right place, ask them to bleed your clutch for you, and look for leaks in either the slave or master cylinder.

You may need to replace one or both, and the cost should be around 200 notes for both incl labour.

  2. just bought the mag for the first time in ages.

Lovely article with some nice words and pictures. This car totally deserves a good long write up cos its been done so tastefully.

Its not often I see another Corrado and think "thats how my ideal Corrado would look".

Having seen the car before, and i think i said it elsewhere in this thread, i STILL dont think the pictures do the car justice. It looks damn fine in them pics, but even better in real life.

So, have you sold it yet?

  3. Why dont u want to drive the convertible beetle Del? lol

its funny, but no laughing matter i can tell ya. i had to drive it once as the VR was off the road. I was on my way to work, and had all the windows open (the roof was firmly closed can tell ya)

anyway, at the traffic lights, just my luck.... a white van full of builders pulls up next to me and i could hear them talking out loud on purpose "look at that girly womans car" one of those "hurry lights, and just change" moments.

  4. My wife drives the VR, but i always feel uneasy to let her take it away on her own, like to work or to visit a mate etc.

then again, if im in it, i want to be driving it. Bit of a catch 22 really. but she loves driving it.

Hardly surprising as she's got a new beetle convertible!

  5. nice pics. lovely car, lovely colour. (same as mine)

    mine went from this:

I tried to keep it as standard as i could, but couldnt resist. Maybe its your pics, but it doesnt look as high as i remember mine being. Mine really looked like a 4x4 sometimes. Yours looks a minter.

  6. Nice car Bobby. Didnt really get to have a proper look around it yesterday as it was parked up in your garage, and it was peeing it down.

That colour is awesome! Car's got a wicked stance too. Agree that the black wheels only really look good on black cars. Be good to see it again properly.

Might see you Sunday. My VR needs a good run.

  7. I've had a thing for them since i was 18, when i sat in a Storm and many years later I have my dream car.

I was exactly the same. Could never have afforded one when they were new. I can never imagine being without my VR6 now!

    welcome.

  8. I changed all the bulbs in all my switches to red quite a while ago.

Just need to make a few finishing touches mainly the cigarette lighter ring which is green.

I know that on many modern cars they are red/dark orange.

Does anyone know which car i could buy one from?

    Cheers in advance.

  9. I think when it comes to run around time next year i'll be buying a mk2 8v, some can be had for silly cheap money these days!

you are dead right about that.

My cousin picked an F plate up a couple of years ago with about 100'000 miles on it. Has been using it all this time and has clocked up another 35'000 and its never skipped a beat with regular servicing and common sense maintenace.

I think he paid something like about £700 for it with MOT and a few months tax.

  10. was expecting a picture like this for some reason when i read the thread title.

Anyway, i hope you get it sorted soon. we has the same problem in our MK2 golf, although that was because some idiot had fitted their own DIY sunroof kit.
