Cant recommend the stainless pipe seller enough, he included a couple of extra seals for free as well

I thought about one of these when I recently did mine but changed my mind as it is expensive http://www.gruvenparts.com/cast-aluminum-12v-vr6-thermo-housing-assemblies/ I used a stainless crack pipe as I found the topran one a poor fit and it leaked at the block http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-12V-VR6-2-8-2-9-stainless-steel-crack-pipe-water-pipe-for-mk3-Golf-Corrado-/151927777807? This fitted perfectly with a bit of lube and after cleaning out the block with a dremmel, I also cleaned the mating face on the heas with wet and dry before fitting the themostat housing (VW version)

If its this style fob then they are available on ebay new from time to time for less than this second hand one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-VW-GOLF-ETC-RF-RED-LED-TYPE-1-BUTTON-CONLOG-REMOTE-ALAR-KEY-FOB-KEY-/231836628810?

Thanks all, had a local garage quote £250 a side to pull the floor straight and fab up the sill pieces, just waiting for a response from a bodyshop that specialises in classics

Thanks again Sean I have never had welding/bodywork done on a car before and was worried it was going to be really expensive I'm going to take it to a body shop and get a quote this week, it needs doing sooner as you say though its in my TDI daily so is getting further seasoning with the salt going down the mo!

Thanks Sean, Here's the photos (sorry about the quality but hopefully you get the idea

Hi I will post pictures tomorrow but was wondering if corrosion on the front sills at the front wheelarch and crushed front jacking points is very expensive to have fixed?
-
Its in Stafford and an older gentleman living round the corner from me is selling it. I'm not sure he is doing a good job of advertising it though...never mentioned its a storm. If anyone wants me to take a quick look/get better photos to see if its worth making a trip yourself then pm me

Thanks for the replies Today I fitted one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/a63yoh/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= Went in with a bit of lube and persuasion and no leaks Reccomended

worth getting some of the fixing clips as the they break/deform easily-pence off ebay and worth it to stop rattles
-
Yeah I'll check when I take it all apart again..I was wondering do I try another topran part, try an oe vw one or try a metal one with a few spare seals in case I cock it up again. I dont mind the cost, I just dont want to take the front off three times
-
The old one was a VW one and had to be wrestled out, when I got it out the end just crumbled to bits
