  2. ooo good shout Dox, just presumed the dealers wouldn't be of any use, will give them a try!
  3. Hi all, I am in need of a washer/oring for a coolant temp sensor that sits in the thermostat housing. Also need one of the plastic clips that holds the sensor in place if any one has these available? or knows where I can get hold of them? many thanks Aaron.
  4. Reading through this, it sounds like all signs point to take it with you!
  5. Well, today was eventful with the engine! Managed to get my new pulleys on, and then got the belt on. Also got the mk5 oil cooler on with the crack pipe and thermostat housing. Was properly chuffed with it all until i came to try and put the engine loom on! It turns out that to plug the loom to the injector rail, you need to have the inlet manifold off, sounds simple enough right.... To get the inlet manifold off, you have to have the bracket that holds the steering pump and alternator off, to get that off you have to take the belt off and the alternotor and stwering pump. So basically i had to take most of what i have been trying to put on back off to make six clicks. Bad times. BUT, the loom is now pretty much on, and all the parts are back on too, so i think the engine is pretty much ready to try and put in the bay now. Couple of small bits, need to make a blanking plate for something on the back of the engine, and sort of the oil sensors too. Then its hack away at the front mount till it fits! And what a lovely day for it too Sent from my LG-D856 using Tapatalk
  6. do you windscreen washer jets work? That connector looks very similar to the power lead for the washer jet pump if my memory is working today. If it is, it connects up into a small motor behind your washer bottle..
  7. that's a shame! was about to jump on those too!
  8. perfect! so will just be tiny adjustments on the tensioner then! fingers crossed for engine in place by Wednesday then!
  9. So, taken advise from my local SAS, don't know if I'm brave or stupid... Told them I needed the 6pk1264 belt. He said they have the 6pk1263 which apparently will be a perfect fit still, its just a fraction shorter which can be compensated for with the tensioner? does this sound about right? Hopefully getting the water pump pulley this week too if I get chance to get to VW, then the engine is good to be placed into the bay! exciting times!
  10. hello and welcome along - plenty of people on here with the knowledge to help you get going... Many people upload photos to another website and copy in the link I think, personally, I prefer using the tapatalk app, find the Corrado Forum on it and sign in, then you can get pictures up really easily! Hope that helps and look forward to seeing the progress...
  11. I used duck oil or equivalent is GT85/WD40, sprayed loads on, left to soak, and the sticky glue wiped off with a cloth...before and after on my thread, page 7/8 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?86313-Aaron-s-VR6-(getting-R32-d)((now-smooth-bayed))-Engine-and-bay-stuff-now-Page-13/page8

  17. :thumbleft: unfortunately, that is very possible!
  18. My Friend's BMW 3 series had a similar problem, he eventually checked the brake fluid. The fluid was pretty much black which we found out to be because water had got in. We drained the fluid out, topped up and bled the system and all seems much better now, although he still doesn't know how water got in.
  19. Some progress again, the engine is starting to get all the parts on, couple of confusing areas to do with the oil cooler and crack pipe but on the whole we are managing. Starter motor is now sprayed up and attached, a working alternator is also now on. Water pump pulley is appearing a difficult part to source, as is the echaust manifold gaskets bizarrely, there are so many im not sure which are right! The inlet manifold is also now sprayed up so looks lovely and clean. Cleaned my non abs brake servo and fitted that today too, looks awesome i think but i need to source a spacer for master cyclinder part to fit flush... A lot done and a lot more to do! Will keep updating! Sent from my LG-D856 using Tapatalk

  23. to be honest most of the sets on good old eBay were 7j and 8j - I ended up getting mine off Lilfuzzer from here. I was thinking of changing the fronts to 8j though if you struggle to find some 7's
