Hmmmm - auto stealth mode ;-) - WOT and the lights go off
-
Anyone got any experience of those WOT-auto-alternator-bypass systems? Seem to remember seeing a kit somewhere once that basically consisted of some honking big relays controlled by a electronic brain that would just basically switch the alternator out of circuit on wide-open-throttle only, claiming to liberate some of those ponies :-) Obviously you would still have the mechanical drag of the alternator, but without an electrical load this should be small... Anyone?

But there's only one cylinder head, if it's a true V then there should be two... -

Yep - that's the literal translation of Vee-Reihenmotor - "in-line Vee" ...quoting from the infamous technical guide that's loose onthe internet... -
Knackered transmission mount - they're fluid filled - that's whats leaked out! :-) Cue Mr Haywire extolling the virtues of the Turn2 mount? ;-)

VR6 - Intermittant screech/grind from Alternator driive belt
stormseeker replied to black66's topic in Archive
For VR6 belt tensioner info see http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7833 Brake pedal posintion sensor won't affect braking performance, just stop the ABS working if the brain decides it's duff -- see http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... torder=asc for location, part number etc. :-) :-) -

'Tis a nice looking motor, but I'm not generally a fan of Audi/porsche/BMW badges on VWs - why pretend it's something it isn't? (Sorry, that sounds incredibly nit-picky ;-) I do honestly like the car :-) ) -
They'll never be even - the Iraqiis had bugger all to do with the attacks of Sep 11th! (can't even bring myself to use the stupid Americanised 9/11 terminology  )

My Corrado's still got to go back AGAIN to the bodyshop that repaired it last Sep/Oct/Nov (I mean they had it for 9 weeks - couldn't they get it right?) 'Cos I'd used "back to black" type silicone stuff on the door plastics (handle, mirror surround, bump strips etc.) and because they either hadn't prepped the paint properly or they're just stooopid, both passenger & drivers door's paint is now suffering from silicone contamination round the handles  And the new front bumper either hasn't been primed properly or painted by a moron, big chunks of paint are just flaking off round the number plate recess  muppets! When I first took the car into the place, there were BMWs/Mercs there that had been repaired and looked really good - I think they either consider a 9 year old car too old to be arsed with or they're just doing it to wind me up! And I had a nice friendly chat with the bloke when he first saw the C about how rare/sought after/cherished they were! I reckon they've let the YTS monkies loose on it... :-(

Kev, did you manage to catch a look at Guy Hartley's carbon fibre scuttle cover at Inters - I've seen one photo from the side - was it cut out round the wiper motor? Any good?
-
Anyone actually know where the two different length paths are laid out inside that huge chunk of alloy? Just Curious :-)
-
Two ones I've got might be modable... (someone with photoshopping skilsl ;-) )
-
Jeez  That really is "The Best Corrado in the world... EVER!" Particularly like the tipex highlighting on the steering wheel VW badge.... and the fecked front grille! Should this go in the same stable as the "Skoda" Corrado???
-
So Phat, what's the schedule for the 4WD fitment?
-
Nice one :-) Really wish I was going to Inters...
-
Surely you should do it on the forum stand (errr Forum car park group I mean ;-) )? As some sort of performance art piece  Imagine all the (VW knowledgeable) punters passing by, they could even make a donation to be let loose on the car...

Just cleared out my desk drawer at work - ebay won't know whats hit it when I list this crud tomorrow night   ...

Mine's a '95 so already has (lucas) mk3 calipers - deffo going the mkiv route.... just need to sell some more tat on ebay to pay for 'em
-
I reckon aqua-blue and silver/chrome go really well together - my vote goes for the bling bling red/clear :-)
-
120MPH m/way blast home from work + sticky rear caliper = big stink when you get out the car :-( Really must get my arse in gear and sort this out!
-
Buy two and join them in the middle!

Haywire Engineering to start producing scuttle covers  (to add to the already impressive list of A/F meters, lupo rear wipers, brake lights in the tailgate trim.....) :-) :-) :-) Idea - fettle the Golf 2 one to fit and use that as a template for carbon fibre jobbies...

But Oichans Corrado is LHD - even though they drive on the left... (Apparently the Japanese like their cars to be spec'ed as close as possibile to how they are in the country of manufacture, right down to having the steering wheel on the "german" side ...)
