  1. I hope to get the side repeaters soon and maybe flush fit valves.
  2. I used the supplied bulb holders. I crimped new spade connectors on to the wires, worked a treat.
  3. Wanted to repost some pics of my C with recently fitted 17's, FK rears and Lupo wipers.
  4. Fitted mine earlier in the week but wanted to wait till I got my 17's on so here it is.
  5. Ben, The driver side blade is actually the same size as the passenger except it attaches to the arm about 1 inch further down the blade. I paid £48.61with discount. Cheers
  6. Thought about this but the body of the light pushes against the big opening in the tailgate so opening the small holes would do no good. I would have to open out the big opening and I don't want to go to that extreme.
  7. Just fitted my lights tonight.......look good but they are not lining up. I have jiggered them about as much as I could to align them but they are still too far out. Anyone else had this problem? If I can adjust the tailgate to press against the seal a little tighter then this would do it. Can I adjust the lock catch? Cheers :(
  8. The answer to my problems!!!! After a visit today to C and R in Notts about other C problems I asked about my alloy wheels rumbling and without hesitation the answer was CHEAP TYRES! I never thought they could cause so much noise but apparently they can if they are cheap enough. Uniroyals were recommended. Cheers
  9. The rain beading on the body are almost as satisfying as the shine!
  10. Does anybody think wider wheels are putting more of a strain on the wheel bearings as it does sound like the wheel bearings are rumbling? I would have thought there would be at least some rumbling with standard wheels but there is nothing.
  11. I'll check the damper but I don't have a problem with standard wheels, surely this would show on standards?? Exactly what do you mean by 'cut it off'?
  12. The noise may be there all the time but I can only hear it when I slow down below about 20mph and drop the clutch to lessen engine noise. I'm pretty sure the nuts are fitted correclty and tight, how else could they have been fitted???
  13. Just bought some second hand 17" Mille Miglia Spiders for my C and they are causing me a problem. After fitting them I noticed a humming noise and also a quiet knocking noise as though there is something in the tyre. I have checked the tyres and found nothing. I had them balanced before fitting but noticed a slight buckle in one (can't see it by looking at the wheel) but it balanced ok so I put it on the rear. It sounds like it's coming from the front and my first thought was that fitting wider wheels than standard was highighting worn wheel bearings. I put the standard wheels back on and the noise dissappeared. They are 7 x 17 with 35mm offset. Appreciate any help on this. Dave
  14. The pin doesn't quite sit flush, about 1mm off if I remember. I tapped my pin in with a steel pin and hammer but at some point it will not go any further, at that point stopping hitting. Worked for me.
  15. I had up and down movement in my steering wheel. What you need to do is remove the lower steering column plastic cover (3 screws) and locate the pin that engages in the height adjustment teeth, you should be able to see it on the left side. The pin will have come out it's hole in the casting at the right hand end, all you need to do is tap the pin back in, don't worry you won't knock it out as the casting hole has been deformed to prevent this. Before you put the cover back on just have a play with the height adjustment and you will see why it had the play in the first place.
  16. When I told my insurance company about my lowered suspension kit they said although it doesn't make the car any faster the appearance of a lower more sporty looking car could make it more attractive to thiefs. I guess this could be said for our rear lights after all the car could be stolen for the lights alone. In saying this the insurance premium didn't go up but the excess did. The courier is Interlink Express.
  17. Got mine this morning too.........NICE!!!!!!
  18. sorry tried to upload big pics, smaller pics attached
  19. Ok chaps, I have just fitted my new wipers. The part numbers I was advised to order from VW in Nottingham are 2x 6x2998406 Wiper arm and blade 1x 1J2955425A Driver side blade The extra blade (1J2955425A) should replace the driver side and sits about 1 inch further down the arm therefore away from the top of the windscreen. You should now have a spare passenger side blade. They both fit and work perfectly so I've attached pics in the rest and top positions. I hope this helps and perhaps minimizes the confusion. BTW whilst I was at the stealers there was a NEW Golf in the showroom with these new style wipers fitted. Must be good!!! Even better I got my discount for being a member of the Corrado Club.
  20. Can't remember where I found this!!
  21. Can't wait to get to work tomorrow.......never thought I'd say that!!!!! Mine should arrive at work am.
  22. Simon, You'll be pleased to know I've paid for them today. It also appears from James that there is an even bigger demand for these over our group buy of 12. Cheers mate.
