Is it possible to fit front calipers to the rear....
g60bv replied to biggerbigben's topic in Engine Bay
'' mk4 calipers with 256mm at the rear '' is this striaght forward, 'just bolts' on or is it more than this, plus wont it be 5 stud.? :? -
standard boost is 0.8 bar :( bit pooh, 68mm should see 14.7 psi - 1 bar at red line 6200rpm if you raise the limiter to 6500 pr even 6800 you will see 1.1 bar, i run a 65mm and limter at 6800, i can get over 20 psi at max :D ..but i have a rabbits foot on me a all times, .. christ i think i should take the whole bleeding rabbit,

it's a peice of cake, once the return pipe is removed and the blanking plate in, either have a catch tank put in or dump it straight to ground, (not nice but will save a few quid.!) to try and quieten the whole opperation a bit , i went down to a local hover spares place and bought an old hover hose, attached it to the boost return and tied it to the rear brake pipes, so it dumps the boost to under the car, much quieter than having it blowing continuously against the bulk head. 8) i have got pic's, but i can''t get them on forum, dame blast

hi i need help, i'm getting my 'c' mapped soon by a local guy, not a vw specialist,.. i know i know but i cant find any one local-ish who could do the job, i live in redhill, surrey. i used to travel to jabba sport each time but two tanks of petrol and and whole load of cash., any way my question is this... what should the fuel ratio be through out the rev range under load half load etc. one guy said 10:1 which sounded ridiculously to high. i understand the perfect mix is some thing like 14.5:1 plus this will be taken from the exhaust. when it was rolled last time my low range was 9:1 to 11:1 and my high rev range was 16:1, bit weak, i've got water injection to hopefully prevent any damage and i'm not racing until this is sorted, . i can even set fire to the exhaust, at idle.. it goes in next thursday. any help would be great. current mods big v ported head 35mm ex piper 270 cam grey injectors st4 charger single entery charger 65mm pully custom c'cooler water injection and some other bits and bobs boost 16-17psi 6200rpm had made 230bhp/280nm at jabbas on 68mm and crap charge cooler last year. ***mod edit - Please turn your CAPS lock off! - Henny***

check the mfa tube isn't split, this is quite common cos it black and nilon and rubs against other tubes, wears through and you loose vac and boost, it is located off the brake vacume line , follow it round to the right where it gets lost in amongst other tubes and then goes through the bulk head to the dash, if not check all the vacume tubes as these do wear and spilt . oh and the isv rubber tube also wears, good luck, my c had a irratic idle turned out to be a weak mixture.

the originals are the best even thou they are a tenner each, it's to do with the heat generated by forced induction, but they do last for ages.

i run a custom charge cooler which is awsome, i did have a jabba one , but found these are shit, i use the washer bottle as a resevwar(?) and an air con rad with a fan on it, water with window wash in it is fine, oh and water injection with methonal mix for when the boost get to much, bring chage temp to just above ambiant, always. oh pumps, go to a carvan place get a inline 12v on for £20, and thats for a decent one, sweet.

i only get 180 miles to a tank of optimax. on a good day down hill. but i'm running grey injectors and 230bhp, never had more than 250 to a tank with the standard engine, they love the juice, mines a pint please...

it will be air just dont over heat the car cos you'll damage something, i had the same prob when i had my head off, and damaged both coolant senders, i'mn sorry but i cant remember how i got it out thou, i sure running it slowly sould clear it. ??

hi, right i'm fed up with cracked teeth and bits of trim falling off, obviously i need to lower the car but still remain a comfortable ride. at the moment iv got new standard boge shocks all round with new bump stops and eibach springs, which i was told would be the most comfortable. please some one out there must know of a kit which would suit me , the tyres i'm running are toyo proxies 205 40 17, i understand these wont be helping the matter, koni coilovers any good or weitec? please help me.

hi ya i tried adrain flux and they buggered me, tried to give me less no claims and are not the cheapest. try green light, part of club gti, they got my highly modded g60 for about a grand fully comp parked outside 2 ys no claim but i can only use it for privet use and limited to 4000 miles a year, which might not sound many but i only use it on weekend and to shows,. i'm 24. can't be bad, adrain f*@x wanted 1500.

hi just been reading through, iv'e got a g60 running 230 bhp and i put brembo 305 on mine, and they are proberly the best thing i've ever done, fit stright on no probs, work from cold and don't over heat, i had the disks drillled at a local work shop as the standard disks are such good quaility and for only £50 the pair brilliant value, the calipers are £100 each and come with pads, all you need are the brackets £15 each and the caliper bolts m12x90 i think , the bracket to hub bolts you can use the originals just shorten them by 10mm. then all you need is the hoses made up and the 90' hose to caliper connecter, i got my hoses at gti inter's for £45 braided, you will need at least 16" wheel and depending on style some spacers. i've got bbs rc's in 17" and they JUST fit, liturealy fag paper between wheel and caliper. i think the whole cost was £450 -£500 not bad and these are factory fitment for seat, so they've been tested, go on do it, i seen whole kits on e-bay selling for about this money.
