  1. flusted has a k-star unit for sale...which is what I'm using for part of my 'interm' fueling solution for my turbo project! You can also use it for custom timing maps, before you upgrade.

    Loss of water...

Here's the link for the complete pump for a non Vr6 C  Pump Pretty good price, I think!

    Loss of water...

tbh I haven't fixed it! The engine is on its last few miles before the turbo transplant, so I'm just keeping a close eye on the water level! A complete water pump is only £22 from vwspares though!....It's not too bad a job to unbolt it!.....I think there's a "how to" on here somewhere if you do a search!

    Loss of water...

I have had a similar problem lately. turns out to be a small leak from just behind the pulley on the waterpump. Worth a look there while the engines running

    Engine Shipping

I cant remember the names of the guys who delivered my engine either  . cost about £60 from Manchester to Lon though and they were pretty decent about showing up at a set time etc! I've got the reciept down in my garage....I'll dig it out this eve, and give you a name tomorrow if nobody else has remembered the names of any good companies by then!

    Rado Insurance

I'm using Adrian Flux at the moment...but I've heard bad things about their service, so I'll probaly be changing come Oct! Quinn Direct also seem to be really cheap....a friend of mine just had to make a claim through tehm, and they were supposed to be pretty good to deal with too!
  7. this handy page has given me some good ideas/info on mounting the four injectors to the manifold. intake manifold fabrication Nice looking new injector boss's turns out the machine shop here can probaly do the welding of the injector bosses onto the manifold for me....so it looks likethe k-star route would be the better option at the moment!
  8. Could have used that last week!.....sheared all the threads off the sump plug on the rocco when I was trying to change the oil! Ended up drilling holes in the sump to drain it, and a quick trip to GSF for a new one
  9. I knew this would be complicated! So their are good and bad points to fitting EFI off a mk3 16v and setting up the k-star to run 4 seperate injectors! Down the road I was planing to upgrade to something like Megasquirt anyways, so if I got a bbm rail to use with the 4 mainfold injectors, I guess I could use that when I upgraded to m/s efi? And seen as I already have the K-star it may be a better startoff option? RMN, yeah, I've seen how much money Geo is making on 16v engines  Unfort a fair few of the orig engines parts are going to be transferred to the new block+head...so I'm not going to have a complete engine to sell after the conversion
  10. So a fuel rail something like this:Clicky A set of 4 vr6 or similar injectors hooked up and mapped to the single connection for the K-star injector, and a modified lower inlet manifold with the correct injector seats, is basically what I'm after?
  11. So it involves drilling the lower half of the inlet manifold? I'd prefer to avoid that sort of surgery, but if it is the best option I guess I would have to do it! I only have one pair of wires to connect the 5th injector....So would the four injectors just be wired in in parallel? so they basically dump 1/4 of the added fuel down each branch of the inlet?
  12. As I've nearly got my Scirocco ready to back on the road, the C will shortly be garaged for its turbo conversion. :) 8) I have a k-star 301 kit with a fifth injector setup that I was going to use to control fueling in the medium term. However I've been reading up on it and there seems to be a number of limitations to just running a 5th injector on the inlet elbow. I've heard that the k-star can be used to control a seperate 4 injectors and I was wondering if anyone had any info on this setup? The only similar setup I can find, the guy drilled each leg of the inlet manifold and welded in four injector seats!! I'm not exactly too keen to be going to those lengths, so what sort of fuel rail etc is needed in this case? :? Cheers Dec
  13. Thats some understatement Steve!!.....completely purple would be closer to the truth   :-P

£120 is a very good price!.....scrappies can charge up to £80 for the moonroof alone, and it can take a few hours to swap them over if you haven't done the job before!

    Hello all!!

Hello! The forum buyers guide is probably a good place to start Link to buyers guide
  24. Seems a bit high to me! Mine runs at 80'ish while driving and about 90 something if sitting in traffic for a while in this weather. The rad fan switch just unscrews from teh bottom battery side of the rad. easy job and pretty cheap.
  25. I've just had to check my calender to make double sure that it's not the 1st of April today! Surely this thread was started two months and 5 days too late
