  1. Sounds like the mechanical mech slipping to me.....but it would prob drop when you were driving too in that case :?
  2. yeah, 125k (miles) and no service history would deffo need a good checkover at least! you could use it as a bargaining point to get some money off the asking price though
  3. deffo wouldn't refer to the 16v engine as "troublesome".....ran mine from 128k up to 144k without a single hickup at all! I'd consider them to be one of the more reliable points on Corrados!
  4. oooh....didn't read that properly at all    I get ye now....that is a bit weird! sounds like a legit buyer though
  5. Corrados are worth about twice as much in Ireland as they are over here! It's easily worth the cost of flights + ferries to buy one in the UK! It's the cost of re-registering it in Ireland thats the real killer though!
  6. In the boot of the rocco at the mo: 1: 02j gearbox (too heavy for me to be bothered removing) 2: mounts weights + cables from gearbox 3: all front dash shelves from the rocco (removed as clutch cable needs replacing soon) 4: a small mountain of tools for fixing things that keep breaking 5: 4 rolls of tape for fixing things that keep falling off 6: many many tubes of glue for fixing things that keep on snapping 7: Tubes of silicone for sealing bits taht keep on leaking 8: Oh!....and a set of brake disks and pads! thats about it! Just hope I don't end up in a crash!.....1 gearbox in the back of the head wouldn't be pleasant
  7. was in a mate of mines Bora about a year back, pulled over to pick up his daughter and we noticed the odo read: 666'5'6 and the trip computer read 66.6....pretty scary altogether....if not for that '5' in the middle of things!!
  8. Thats well cheap!! I did the sciroccos using a spirit level a while back becauseI figured it wasn't worth forking out £60-£75 precisely adjusting the camber on a car that only cost £50  Seems to have done the job ok though :-P
  9. That price is for all seats, door cards, headrests and armrest!
  10. Well I asked them for a price for mine out of interest.....they quoted me £895 + 156 vat = £1051!
  11. Wow!!.....I've just been quoted over twice that for a retrim!! Would be very interested to see some of their work!

    Aluminium flywheels

Yeah, I had heard that the 16v golf ones are completely different to the C's

    Aluminium flywheels

It is about twice the cost of getting the standard flywheel lightened and balanced afaik. But I've heard bad things about lightening cast Iron flywheels...and tbh I'd prefer to go for a properly made replacement!
  15. They look like SS595's great tyre if they are!
  16. Are the G60 and 16v flywheels the same? I found these alu flywheels in the States, they seem to be a good price, but I was wondering if anyone had any other sources for lightweight flywheels or info on these specific ones. Lightweight flywheels

    twin rear fogs?

The point of having one fog light is so that you can distinguish it from a pair of brakelights! The bulb holder on the non foglight side can take another fog light bulb for LHD cars though afaik....so it would just be a case if cutting out the blank in the back of the light unit

    Throttle body

Do all of the throttle bodies from 2.0L 16v's have a throttle position sensor? I assume they are a direct replacement for a tb from a 1.8L valver other than the position sensor? Reason I'm asking is that I've finally decided to go for the megasquirt option and I now need a tb with a throttle position sensor! So would a 9A tb be an easy option, or are there any other better options

    my corrado 16v

Unbelievable!...may get the full story behind this car now!
  20. For most VW's ...ye get Mk1, Mk2 Sciroccos + jetas + Polos etc etc
  21. Why not get the engine sorted....sell the leather + coilies and nice bits that get silly money on Ebay, and then sell it as standard?
  22. Silly question. If I was to get a fidanza style flywheel, which one fits a valver? I know they are different to a Vr6, but they are also ar*eways compared to a 16v Golf so they don't fit either....... :?
  23. Ok, I know this is beyond a long shot, but does anyone know anything about setting up this k-star yoke. I have the k-soft v4 software for it and various ignition + fueling maps. But I'm not sure how you can get this to control four injectors :? :( Basics first....in the pic below: Yellow circle: Connection to ECU Green: Com1 PC connection Blue: 3x (+5v, GND, Signal), wires for the MAP sensor Red: 2 (Red + brown) wires for the fifth injector control? :? So, If there is only two wires (for the single injector) how is it possible to wire 4 injectors?
  24. Just been looking into this. You'll need to change the 108mm driveshaft flanges for 100mm ones from a non turbo box afaik
