  1. oh yeah! the brakes are absolutely crud, forgot to mention that. There was talk on one of the other forums about making up small adaptor plates to allow you to fit 256mm disks + calipers from a Corrado to them. But I'm not sure if they were ever made in the end.

    Radiator Replacement

The fan is held in position by a plastic mount which attaches to the metal cowling. If I remember rightly, that plastic bracket can be unbolted from the cowling (3 bolts), and removed along with the fan while keeping the metal cowling in place.
  3. I'm just finishing putting one back together to do me as a drive about while I'm playing with the Corrados engine! I quite like the looks of them...but most other people don't seem keen on them! Mines only a 1.6 carb, but its actually quite nippy, as they only weigh something like 890Kg. What I'm most impressed is the price of parts for them, and how basic everything mechanical is! Nice and simple, so there's less to go wrong with them....and they are cheap and easy(ish) to fix when you need to. £14.20 for a complete new fuel pump v's at least 10 times that for the rado....cant go wrong at those prices :)
  4. I have a Toad and have had zero problems with it in three years! I've heard nothing but bad things about Clifford alarms not working properly and causing major pains in the A**!....so I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole anymore!
  5. I tried to submit a few the other day, but I don't think it worked properly! :( They weren't put in a folder I'm afraid. But they are extrernal shots of a red rado, with picture titles like: "PICT0101.jpg" etc.
  6. I'll stick up a few shots of mine when I get my camera later! Where would you like the text sent to?

    rear legroom

    Yeah, should be no prob!

    rear legroom

Well I'm 5'11 and my head hits the headlining if I sit in the rear, so I wouldn't want to be in there for any huge journeys!

    rear legroom

Leg room is pretty decent...its headroom in the back that I've had complaints from passengers about!
  10. Yeah, was thinking that it was a pretty good episode last night! Some pretty funny bits in it too! The Vrs v's the GTi reversing challenge around the track was pretty daft and pointless though  :?

    hand brake covers?!

There's a leather trim that replaces the plastic one up on Ebay now and again. It looks quite neat from the pics but I've yet to hear from anybody who actually bought one of them! Clicky
  12. the one I have is a 6.5

    passat sunroof

hmmmm...I reckon I can beat that.....challenge you to a race!!

    passat sunroof

Makes some difference to the interior of the car! It's sooo much brighter with the glass roof fitted! One of the best mods I've done yet  When you are doing it though, don't refit the headlining until you are happy with the fit of the roof, im my experience it takes a bit of playing with the washers to get the roof fitted properly and reduce wind noise!

    oil change

Try some Wynns hydraulic valve lifter treatment. It worked wonders on mine! You're prob better off adding it before an oil change. I used a bottle of Wynns, 4L of 15w 40 and a spare oil filter to "flush" my engine over a few 100Km before I actually put in the new oil I was going to use
  16. Mines a red G plater....Feb 1990 if I remember rightly, it's been de-pinked though! Everythings electric on it, but it has the old school odometre!
  17. Children.... :-P Corrado is a modern classic, Scooby is a modern fad.......no comparison!

  19. Thats what I thought, sure the parts to rebuild the head alone would come close to that! I was looking at paying $1000 ish for the pistons alone aswell....not to mention the rods! Just kept my eye out on Ebay for misspellings "Carrado" etc :-P
  20.  ...I've been a member for 2 and a half years, and there are no pics of my car up here  If the weather is nice over the w'end I'll give it a clean and stick a few shots up!
  21. Cheers lads  I'm still collecting parts together, so I wont start the actual work for a few months yet! Engine was another one of my Fleabay bargains! Just over £300 delivered to me :D (Just slightly more than the manifold cost  )
  22. Just got the new engine delivered this afternoon, so I figured I'd stick it up here :-P Fully rebuilt block and head using S2 conrods and Turbotechnics pistons. Comp ratio of 7.8:1 apparently. Should go nicely with the tubular manifold I got a few months back. Also have the K-star unit and a few other bits bought......so the collection is starting to come together....finally  :-P
  23. Having owned two 16v's; one with a 50mm manifold and one with the standard 42mm, there is no way I'll be "upgrading" my current 42mm one to 50mm......makes the car really gutless at low revs, and that is already where the 16v's are lacking imho :|
  24. They should fit without spacers as the offset isn't that far off standard. (I've had wheels with an offset of 42 on mine temporarily without any probs) You could prob get a set of spacers to give them a wider look though
