  1. I wish I had that kind of talent. Great drawing.
  2. Tiff Needell likes them. That's enough acclain for me!
  3. That is a beautiful car. Nice one.
  4. A friend of mine has a W-plate 1.7 Puma with about 80k on the clock. It's not that fast, but it's a decent car to drive and I quite like it. She's had it for over a year and it's suffered no problems so far. There are no major common faults that I'm aware of.
  5. There's no more chance of this guy moving to darker things than there is of the local vicar doing the same. I agree that he's more than a little unconventional, but I don't think it's time to classify him as a child molester just yet.
  6. As sexual deviancy goes, that's pretty harmless. I mean, a least he's not doing horrible things with children. It takes all sorts, although I fail to see the attraction. He hasn't even got a Corrado in his collection! :norty:
  7. Not a bad looking car at all....but the V6 4Motion version manages 18.7mpg combined, and 242g/km. Ouch.
  8. While it's true that an increase in pressure will generally lead to an increase in air, it's the extra air itself that allows the extra fuel to be burned. Pressure is just a 'facilitator', as you put it, in the equation. I'm just stating the obvious, much like in previous posts.
  9. I think you mean volume of air (or maybe mass) rather than air pressure.
  10. They really do look great. The Rossi picture is incredible. I can't draw for sh** :(
  11. I'm certainly thankful for the extra 100 or so horsepower I have over my old Corrado. The idea of a 'sleeper' Corrado still appeals greatly though!
  12. People that call the 1.8T engine 'characterless' are full of crap, in my opinion. There's nothing characterless about my Leon; in fact it's a lot of fun. A car doesn't have to be unreliable and expensive to run to have character. Admittedly, it wasn't that inspiring in 180bhp form but it's pretty entertaining now.
  13. They're not one-offs but they're not that common. There's at least one VR6 on the forum with them fitted.
  14. The going rate for scrap batteries was £100 per tonne last month. You don't need that many to make a tonne either!
  15. My Corrado used to do more-or-less the same thing when I got it - perfect cold starting, but wouldn't start when warm without applying some throttle (and even then it'd sometimes run on three for a bit), or winding in over for ages. One set of injectors later and it was no more trouble.
  16. That's very good power, although I wouldn't say Clive Atthowe's dyno is unsympathetic. My Leon made 242bhp/256ftlb there and the folks of the seatcupra.net forum think that's over the top for a stage two AUQ engine. Either way, it goes well enough for me.
  17. You'll probably have to register to view this page, but it'll be worth it for the info... http://www.briskoda.net/forums/maintenance-performance/how-do-4-versions-1-8t-engine-fitted-uk-octavia-differ/2562/
  18. You'd need to find a pretty sympathetic dyno to see 220bhp from just a remap of a K03s-based engine. The numbers mean very little though; the way the car drives will be leagues ahead of a standard map. The ARX engine is fitted with the same K03s turbo as the AUQ, etc engines. Therefore it will also require a sympathetic dyno to see over 210bhp.
  19. That's friggin' class. I'd happily turn up to work in that.
  20. That's a crazy amount of work. It's nice to know that however swirly and horrible your paint is, it's not necessarily game over.
  21. Those Comps are beautiful wheels. One of my Corrado favourites.
  22. If the worst comes to the worst, you can pinch a switched live from the heated rear-window switch nearby. Not exaclty ISO, but it's a hefty circuit and can handle the small extra load.
  23. Isn't the blue and white wire the speed reference signal for the automatic volume control? IIRC it's the one people often confuse for an aerial booster cable and stick 12v down, resulting in a non-functioning automatic spoiler.
  24. Do you know the colour code? You may be lucky and find panels in the right colour.
  25. Well played! I'd say 180bhp is well within reach. Congratulations...and make sure you post lots about it on Club GTI, eh?
