  1. Also first time you're driving and it rains, try really had not to watch the rain beading up and shooting up the windscreen :nono:. It looks like a Sci-Fi warp speed effect but can be distracting at first!!
  2. You may also find it's worth checking to see if the inner pulley with the idle bearings is wobbly as hell. Just changed my pump it was leaking water, binned the crap pulley and put a solid one in. All 4 cyl engines use the same pump so the later pulley fits perfectly. I cannot believe how much quieter the bloody engine is now, the pulley was well shot and I put up with it for 2 years!!!! 8)
  3. I was referring to the Vapours Hit hinted at in the thread title! Edit: penny drops! Nice one! Ha har
  4. Is the difference that the VW ones have a bottom hole for the door handle??
  5. Reliability is over-rated, He says having postponed the MOT to get the water pump changed  Good excuse to fit a solid pulley instead of that damn rattley freewheeling one though! 8) And it's "Turning Japanese!"
  6. I really like the Borbet C's
  7. Save the pain and get a carbon fibre bonnet, it's only cash after all, you can't take it with you! 8)
  8. Charles Dickens will be turning in his grave!!!!
  9. Apparently the newer motors are larger than the earlier ones. My question is how big is the difference, and how much work would be required to make a newer motor fit an older roof?? I'm not afraid of drilling and filing, I'd just like to know how long it might take. Any comparitive pics would be a great help.
  10. Ha Har!!! That's more like it    8)

  20. I agree with Dec there's far less to go wrong with the 1.8's although there's also less tweaking you can do in comparision. You can always swap the interior. Doesn't matter how much you tweak it if it keeps breaking down though!!!! Should be group 15 for the 1.8 Insurance although there was some talk of creating more groups so who knows. Some insurers have said my 1.8 was group 20, like the VR6  so obviously I let them poke it up their ar$e!!!
  21. What a refreshing change!!!!
  22. The 2.0's have a Cat so there is more of a restriction i guess and the cams are less exciting, you get a bit more torque though. Ideally get a 2.0 and put a 1.8 head or cams in. By the way they both have 226 mm rear discs, the 1.8 does not have 254 mm rears, Mods the Specs could do with correcting.
  23. I zoomed in and he's got a little one on the front.............Cue Toad
