Does anyone have any recommendations where to best place is to get hub centric spacers from?Cheers
See Leon's post top of this page.

Cheers for that Ian :thumbleft:

If you do a search I think people use seat Leon parcel shelf straps now. Someone will be along soon to correct me.Cheers for that ^

Require just one rubber as the bobble end has broke off :help:

Popped over this evening and sorted out the ride height a bit, and also had a go at correcting the camber using a highly scientific implement - a spirit level on my mobile phone :) Much happier with the ride height now and the camber actually seems pretty damn good and fairly even each side.. will try grab a picture tomorrow as I'm taking it over to Stealth for second post-rebuild oil change.Any pics yet Jim?
I took my car for the tracking setting up and camber, they used a 4 wheel alignment malarky. Drove it for 2 weeks and re-check was done it did need adjusting again, with no charge so all good now :)

I did - looked good! Need to compare your height measurements to mine I think.Did you sort the ride height then Jim?
-
Love the montreal 2s! :DCheers Sam, they look better now the car is lower. I went to the VW festival last weekend and had lots of good feed back.
-
Yeah they seem pretty decent. Ride isn't as hard or crashy as I expected either - it's softer sprung than my Fiesta ST!Need to have another go at raising the height of mine - definitely too low!
Nice one Jim glad you got them sorted. Did you see my pics of the ride height of mine?
-
Well after running now with them on the car for 2 weeks I'm quite impressed with the ride quality and set up height. Have run around town, country roads and on the motorway with no issues.

I attended on the Sunday was a good day, counted around 30 Corrado's, even pushed a poorly G60 onto the display with a broken cv joint. Was nice to see so many good examples of cars all in one place. :thumbleft:

Its going to be a shmae that im not going to see a few of the members on here and there cars, as i will be only going on the Sunday. But who's up for a after show meet on the Saturday, before you all head off home?
I'm only going on the Sunday so hope to see some forum members if anyone is doing the full weekend.
-
The Corrado display is all weekend :)Cheers Philuk.
So who's going off the forum?
-
I registered on the VW festival web site under the Corrado section a few weeks ago, the thing is someone said the Corrado stand is only on the Saturday and not on Sunday, that is when I'm going can anyone please confirm.

Guess I want the car to be at about a 30-40mm drop at the absolute max.Have you got a pic of your car with its current ride height?
Adjusted down last night but it's too low, will be adjusting back up and will post a pic.

In the end the impact gun was ineffective (though it does seem pretty powerful, so I will keep it in my toolbox for future use!) - so resorted back to metal bars slipped over the allen key and a long as breaker bar for the top nut - which eventually worked.Front swap went mostly OK apart from the bolt which holds the little brackets at the base of the dampers (to secure the ABS sensor cable and brake line) shearing - but popped to VW and was surprised that they were still available to order, which I did - should be here tomorrow.
So tomorrow evenings last bit of tinkering will be to raise the car some more (too low - ground out, whilst taking it out the garage on a small test drive!), fit these little brackets, and reinstall bits of trim and stuff removed from the rear during installation - and then see about getting it aligned.
It seemed to drive pretty nice - steering seemed a good bit lighter (which I am happier about, as I felt it was too heavy), and it didn't seem as firm as I feared it might - clearly the suspension is actually working now though compared to my old dampers which I think were totally dead! Can't wait to take it on a proper drive on some familiar roads now.
Hi Jim,Sorry to hear you had a bit of a faff with the job.
i was advised to keep the to the high setting for 50 to 100 miles before adjusting down to the ride height required. Dont know if this is the norm but the guy is pretty clued up on this stuff machanic etc.
What height you going to be running at.

How did you manage to get on the telly with your car? Britpop's

Hi RayNice photos and car! I have a 94 VR which was lowered by the previous owner and I will be returning it to standard spring setup over the winter as the ride is far too harsh as it is at the moment. also I managed to locate an air box to replace the K&N induction kit but need the air intake pipe.
Thanks for your comments, i this week went for coil overs with two members on the forum, call it a mini group buy. So will see how i get on with them. Hope you have success with finding the intake pipe.

Just read the thread good price for a storm, agree little on the cheap side for what sounds like to be a good car.
Liked the comment dont ever be a car sales man..lol :bonk:
So a new question to you all what does a "normal" Corrado bring VR6 with say 91k on the clock good history and in good condition?
-
Have you driven it yet? How does it feel? Did you just tackle fitment of them yourself?Hi JIm, Yes i was involved a bit but got one of my lads mates to fit them. No issues atall. Was a big help having the new top mounts as well. Took about 20 mins a side.
Like i said in other post they are set high to settle in. Ride is not bad up to now, bit hard going over pot holes when you cant avoid them on the rear, front is quite good.
Having said that my rears were well beyond good as they were leaking oil so the ride was crap anyway so really cant compare.
I'll keep you posted JIm when i get them set up to the correct height. let me know when you get yours on your car.

Coil overs now fitted to the car. Running a bit high for now let them settle for a few miles, and then will adjust to around 30/40mm.
5x100 spacers, advice needed

Advise needed: i have 5mm spacers fitted on the rears, i have VW Monties wheels on, the centre cap would not fit over the wheel bearing cover so this is why the spacers were fitted, the question is will it be ok to run this set up without the need to use longer wheel studs, bearing in mind it's only 5mm.
