  1. the ebay kits now re-use the oil breather mist by feeding it through the blanking plate.
  2. i had sns chip burnt for my spec but that was with a piper 285 which is quite extreme. id love a remap in future when i can afford it but might get the charger rebuilt first. its in and cars running, just need to take it for a drive tonight 8)
  3. ive always poured new engine oil over the lobes and caps when fitting cams but is that good enough for a new cam?
  4. didnt get round to fitting it today, il let you all know as soon as its in though
  5. i think it makes the g sound even more unique, there isnt another car out there that sounds like it. As for the twin inlet,it is surely impossible for it not to make a power increase? i know have 2 x 3" inlets going into the charger rather than 1
  6. if possible, can i skip section 1 please 8) Cheers
  7. A nice shrick cam has just arrived with me thanks to g-werks 8) Guna fit it tommorrow but wondered if i need to run it in? If yes, whats the proceedure? Thanks in advance
  8. thin cutting disc and a grinder. my mate welded it up easy aswell. Its good to bolt the throttlebody on it when its open and you can see loads of lumps n bumps that can come out. I also opened up the ports on the inside a bit and shaped them the direction of the airflow
  9. my mate welded the inlet manifold back up for me
  10. ive ported everything i possibly can inc cutting my inlet manifold open and doing the inside! just finished doing my own charger aswell
  11. yeah i know what your saying. Problem is nearly all decent mods cost money.
  12. yeah mine kicks in at about 8psi and instantly drops it 6deg
  13. there should be a thread on here somewhere called "flusted diy water injection" I basically used a pump from a headlight washer bottle fed through a fuel filter to a cold start injector. It worked fine for a good 6months before the injector became clogged. Ive now replaced the injector and its still working fine
  14. yeah i made my own for £25, drops inlet temps about 6 degrees
  15. yes,but in the end you prob better just buying the bbm hoses which are all alloy madrel bent i believe.
  16. i made all my boost pipes from different bends of 2.5 stainless exhaust! mostly from an rs turd. i have twin intake on the charger by running 2x cone filters, 1 each side of charger
  17. the standard g60 boost pipes are just gay full stop. they have so many bends and right angles they most be so poor at flowing
  18. good to see you have a g again mate! ring me next time your on the iow 8)
  19. make sure you space it with washers. Ive fitted mine and it catches when shutting
  20. first thing id undo is the hub nuts, then undo strut lower bolts and remove the driveshafts, then undo the 6 bolt exhaust downpipe flange

    Performance Chips

no chip will give you that sort of increase on a standard engine. should be easy to fit expect 5bhp tops, standard is 136bhp
  22. cool, may double check for leaks tommorrow with some soapy water. Need to save up and get the charger rebuilt possibly, unsure on milager since rebuild but had it health checked last year and all was ok and i know its been servied twice in its life and ive had new belt last year
  23. I dont know whether i should be concerned or not, but my car only seems to make about 14psi at 6k with a 65mm pulley? I understand that the more flow work i have done, the more the boost is "used" up but i hear people mention they get near 20psi with similar mods? mfa reading is 1970 at 6k dont know whether its to do with the size of the intercooler or length of the pipework etc Should i be concerned? what psi other people with 65mm pulleys running?
  24. 2l 16v system pressure should be about 5bar i think, and the injectors open with 3.5 bar g60 system pressure is 3bar
