me and my lovely bf have been like busy little bees this last few weeks, spending hours treating my girl and pampering her, shes a beautiful lady anyway but OMG she looks truly stunning with the whole treatment from autoglym and the interior is as stunning as the exterior, my bf lovingly recond the steering wheel and gear knob and they now look like they did 20 yrs ago, she also had her headlining professionally fitted on weds this week and wow what a difference, i hadnt realised how awful she looked without it!!! shame on u emma !! whilst we have been working away i have had several people stop and comment how stunnig she is, which apart from making me smile, makes me think its all been worth it to get her ready to put in the spotlight when i sell her. few more bits to do and i promise you, you will be able to eat your dinner of my engine bay after this weekend  i will get my bf to put up some pics
-
yay!!!!!! so glad it feels better and that your happy with her again..... all lovely ready for me to drive for a while lol, i am a very lucky girl
-
welcome chetan :thumbleft:
-
ha ha actually we have THREE!!!!!! the valver, the vr6 and my storm, they all give you a completely different driving experience, and talk to you in different ways, you really do have to tune in to these beauties as they will respond to this, IMHO tho out the 2 (the valver and the vr6) i would choose to floor the vr6 around a track over the valver any day, but then id choose my bf's vr6 over mine for cornering as his handles better due to the suspension, ha ha ha its ace having a choice of three to drive :thumbleft::smug:

no nor me, im watching the market like a hawk at the moment so that i price mine as fairly as i can, it was still advertised on ebay yesterday but its not this morning lol good programme and im really quite pleased that they didnt even bat an eye lid regarding the chains despite the neglected looking engine and incomplete service history would love to take mine out on that go kart track for one last spin tho
-
only 15 mins to go its got 3 bids on up to £6,300 BUT reserve not been met as yet the stealth conversion one with the shrick cams and total engine rebuild failed to sell at 4750 its now been relisted and has bids on and is on 1750 when i last checked, a lovely car with all that doe spent on it,
-
ha ha yup needs must
-
indeed im v excited about the show, tho im more interested in their reasoning behind not doing the chains and tensioner as i believe they havent done so?
-
yup defo on at 9pm on discovery the write up on the info is as below "mike is ecstatic when he snaps up a vw corrado coupe with only one previous owner for a bargain price. but with cheap cars come expensive surprises........." oooo dear
-
hi no mines an electric sunroof and its the cable inside mechanisim that snapped, (its the cable that pulls it back in once you have slid sunroof) thats fab for the mirror and ABS light not sure what to do about the sunroof really, i was going to try and get hold of the cables and let them go with the car, im selling her so trying to get a few spare parts to go with her for next owner to use, how much for the whole sunroof and mechanisim? thanks em:o
-
job well done there soooo glad mine is perfect lol, one less job to do! :smug:
-
hi andy can you pm with details and price please thanking you muchly
-
hey have you still got the ABS light unit please (mine has just stopped lighting up, im hoping its the bulb,as no other issues with brakes or ABS, but will get it tested to be sure) also the passenger side wing mirror (motor has gone on mine) and the sunroof cables and kit please if still avaliable thanks muchly emma :thumbleft:

there is also a 16v on ebay for £8000 with 38000 on clock, seems slightly overpriced for a valver?
-
magazine is out ive brought it makes for interesting reading with some really positive points, ie the driving and handling and the reliable strong running gear but also some really negatives with a list of what fails regularly on a rado, they have given each of the 10 cars four price ranges, tiptop condition they value the vr at £7000, good condition £4000, usable condition £2000 and project condition £800, it is ranked 7 out of the 10 and the overall winner for true modern classic is the ford focus rs what do u think? is it a  or a  ?

thanks chuggs i actually have grieved for my girl whilst making the decision to sell her, and there actually is some genuine people out there that are selling their beloved car for genuine reasons mine is because of my job (helping elderly people stay in their own homes) she currently costs me between 3-400 pound in fuel a month and considering my total wage is between 9-1000 pound a month...... well you do the maths! that and the fact that i feel she should only be used in the sunshine and kept under wraps the rest of the time, she is not a daily car to be fair as the more miles she does the more work and care she needs i just cant afford to maintain her, believe me when i say this, if i had a garage to store her in I WOULD!! then in 10 yrs time i could do her up and she would prolly be the only storm left in the country, but i cant
-
could it not just be that someone out there actually wants to buy that storm!? regardless of the cat D and tatty interior etc, at the end of the day its a standard storm in the most desirable colour out of the 2 storms made, and ONLY has 84 thou on the clock!! hopefully the buyer is genuine and wants to give a FAB car a bit of TLC and love it how it deserves to be loved we all want the prices of our beauties to increase but hows that supposed to happen when the rado keeps getting put down time and time again!! what do people want for their money? they are all over 20 years old now and unless you dont actually drive it (but then whats the point of having one) signs of wear and tear are going to happen, and i for one would not pile loads of money into making it look like brand new to sell it, at the end of the day its a storm and there is only 8 registered as been licensed and on the road today i hope she sells today and gets the love she deserves
-
my thoughts exactly :thumbleft:
-
just checked this out and bidding currently stands at £4000 with 10 constant and regular bidders and reserve been met! be very interesting what this sells for tomorrow
-
forgive me for being stupid, but why? would it be cheaper to run? my girl is fantastic actually at MPG considering my job (looking after the elderly in their own homes) it involves short journeys and quite often i can get 34-36 MPG out of her regularly the beauty of the rado she just pootles perfectly in 5th gear at 25/30 miles an hour, god i will miss her what difference would i see?

i brought my storm from Volkswizard in the midlands for 3,800 knowing that the chains had not been replaced (and knew that would be a cost i would have to prepare for if i kept the rado long term) but they had been inspected and i was asurred by both him and my current mechanic and as quoted above by chuggs that you cannot ignore the rattle when the tensioners have broken down and that if the chains arent broke dont fix them type of thing, my storm was owned before Volkwizard by a corrado specialist who chose to give it a four figure complete respray rather than do the chains and tensioners so stupidly or not i brought her, she has never let me down and she purrs like a kitten at one turn of the key so i must admit i have held off on getting the tensioners replaced as for the price difference in having the chains done or not, i was actually referring to the overall competition out there and some people are asking stupid money for a vr6 (some ive seen in really tatty condition too!) at 5k plus so with that in mind and with the chains replaced mine has to be worth the top end of 7-8k surely?? well a girl can dream i suppose lol at the end of day i have a new car and i have somewhere to store my girl for a while, i can kind of sit on her as not in a rush at the mo and decide on wether to spend that extra money on getting them replaced thanks for all your comments guys it was a hard enough decision to sell her, let alone even begin to put a price on her
