Have I set an official record ... for the most written-off ?
destructiv dave replied to Eug's topic in General Car Chat
Watch out with these Bonus Accelerator schemes as it limits your choice when it comes to renewal next year as very few companies will accept it as one year, so you may end up with little choice other than to continue with Elephant. -
Thanks for the swift responses. Will take a look at the printed circuit board, if nothing stands out then I guess I will have to change parts between the 2 sets of clocks I have at my disposal to make 1 fully functioning nice looking set. Once again, thanks Dave

Mates just bought a 94 L reg 2l 16v which is all working except for the dials, which when cold flicker on (revs up to standard 900ish etc.) before flicking off then back on, then off and on etc. every 0.50 sec. The time doesnt reset back to 0:00 on the MFA and not sure about the other functions as I am not quick enough to scroll through the functions. I have tested the wiring by using another set of clocks and they work fine so I am left with the knowledge that it is the clocks themselves. I have split the front from the back but am now stuck as to what I should do next. i have checked the search function and it is not an issue that seems to have been raised before, so hoping some electrical guru can give me some pointers. Cheers, Dave

Best mod is to use the inlet cam off of a KR head in your 9a head, or you could do some work on the KR head (new valve stem seals etc.) and then swap it straight over so your car won't be off the road too long.

Advice - respray door or whole car - costs ?
destructiv dave replied to CorradoWannabe's topic in Exterior
For a moment here I thought I was on a Nova forum. It is a metallic colour with 12 years wear, coupled with the fact there will be at least two or three possible shades with the same paint code, the door will need blending into the adjoining panels. Yes you can mask the door strip and the door handle; and it will flake and it will look terrible and cheap; and it will actually be easier to remove the strip and the handle. -
Welcome to the forum mate. Suppose you know that the bubble block is off of an 8v audi and has significant differences to the 6a (audi) / 9a (VW) engine such as no oil squirters and may give the wrong compression ratio, although I am not sure, but am sure others will know better.

No in London, they don't even bother to repair the roads and if they do they turn it into a bus lane.

Electrical problem- Big one at that Help needed urgently
destructiv dave replied to samwell's topic in Archive
1st things first; name and shame that garage, then torch it. 2nd look at the recommended garages for a garage local to you and take it there and get them to have a look at it to diagnose what the problem is, as to a garage that knows anything about VW's (or just cars in general) it may be a simple fix. Then if it is diagnosed as something a little more complicated and costly you could always look down the VR6 conversion route. -
I think they use Audi lights. Check the VW vortex as there are couple of Canadian C's running these.

So Tom that would have been your Corrado I saw at Le Mans :salute: . Was expecting to see more but the place was awash with Porka's and just about every Caterham in England. Went down in a BM touring but will have to use the C next year. Anyway back to the topic, aren't VW sunroofs all made by an independent company (rockwell) that also makes them for other makes as well. Can't really pin that one on VW.
