  1. RH Toplines 7.5x17 on the old B Autos car. Pretty rare wheel though.
  2. 'wiv a cam' is a sarcastic response taking the piss out of the original post. ***mod edit - triple post deleted - stevemac***
  3. It is possible, but what I was meaning is that you would need the appropriate rack, fuse box would have to be relocated (unless you were doing a boj job) which means you would need the engine and dash wiring looms, would need some work on the electric windows and other possible difficulties so what I mean is if you buy a donor car you will have everything you possibly could need.
  4. Really! My friend has converted his Golf from RHD to LHD and all the pressings are in place whether the car is RHD or LHD. I imagine this would be the same in a Corrado, after all I very much doubt they would retool depending on whether it is LHD or RHD as it would cost far too much.
  5. All the mounting points for all the parts should be there already so very little fabrication if any is needed. If you are doing LHD to RHD then get your hands on a donor car and just swap everything over (it pays off to get everything in one go). This is a job I would recommend doing yourself if you are at all mechanically minded as I wouldn't like to imagine what it would cost you to pay someone to do it.
  6. DubSports 20v 4x4 (bronze one) ran with the bonnet raised at the rear to draw hot air out. Tracksport (who built the VR6 mid engine rear wheel drive Golf) also custom make carbon fibre bonnets that are raised at the rear to draw air out. I myself don't understand the theory behind it other than knowing that the air flow above the bonnet actually aids in drawing the air out, as opposed to forcing it back in.
  7. Close but Mk2 16v wheel was the RA and the Corrado wheel is the RZ as mentioned above by OSV.
  8. The pic is as you look through the grill. If you can feel the metal hook spring release, just pull it or push it (mimicking what happens when you pull the cable through).
  9. Easiest way is as posted above by G60speed. If you are really struggling with the lack of space, then consider taking the bumper off as it will make access easier (at least it did on my 16v, with no charger in the way)
  10. Bomb maybe!! :D Nah, could be tappets. When was the last time you did an oil change, could be worth giving it a thorough service and see how things are after that.
  11. When I went to VW Mania in Belgium there was a group of Corrado's in the campsite (at the end of the running track), and one of them was decked out in 17" LM's. He was German and his English wasn't too hot and my German is non-existant but he definately got hold of them from Germany and seemed to suggest that they were attainable but only in 8x17 or 8.5x17. There was also a black Mk3 at Edition 38 with 17"s.
  12. I would buy 8x17 BBS LM's if I were you, but then as mentioned above they only come in 5 stud, so don't forget to figure into the equation changing your hubs to 5 stud, or buying adaptors.
  13. 4 17mm bolts, holding the bumper irons through the chassis leg, 5 13mm bolts holding the front spoiler to the bumper via the bottom radiator support, and then 4 or 6 10mm bolts holding the arch liner to the bumper. This is if you haven't got the brake ducts that my mate has got on his 1.8 16v.
  14. Cool, guess I should really dig out my copy of ETKA then and get ordering.
  15. Not sure if this is the right section for this but... I have a front end crashed damaged 2l 16v and am having thoughts about the slam panel. I have a new one (picked up from one of those dealer sale days) but nowhere on it does it have a part number. If it is the VR6 one that I have what alterations do I need to make to fit my 16v radiator etc. Also has anyone had their slam panel replaced with a new one, as I can see a few parts that I will need to order from GPC (plastic bits the bonnet catches clicked into, plastic bit the bonnet latch rests on), but just want to make sure I don't miss anything off. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Cheers, Dave.
  16. I would go for a 7 or 7 1/2 x 16 with 205/40/16 tyres ET 30 or maybe even ET 25.
  17. Ultimately you get what you pay for. Yes the BBS costs three times as much but they are well made and will be worth 3 times as much and will be far easier to sell if you were to ever consider changing wheels at a later date. Check out Styledynamix in Hayes just off the A40 as you come into London as they will be able to give you good advice.
  18. Switch is on the gearbox. Take the connector off and bridge it, if your reverse lights work then it is your switch.. Probably just needs a good cleaning on the contacts.
  19. I got pulled for having my tax at the top centre in my Golf and was given a producer. Went to the cop shop and asked the desk admin support who checked my docs where by law the disk had to be. He agreed with me that as long as it is visible on the front screen then that should be legal and that it was petty that I was pulled for it, just as a traffic cop (full body armour) walks past and says by law it has to be displayed in the bottom left hand side of the screen, to which I pointed out; "what if it's left hand drive, surely that would be in the sight line of the driver", so off he went to devour some more doughnuts and pull some more dangerous elements of society like the motorist.
  20. jimsG60, Brilliant, that's what I was hoping to hear. Don't suppose you know which relay it is as I am new to Corrado's and haven't bought a Bentley or any other publication in order to help myself. Cheers, David
  21. Having just carried out an engine replacement on a friend's Corrado with everything going to plan, I became aware that the wipers only worked on their fastest setting, and when you turned the wipers off they would stop immediately in whatever position they were in at the time, resulting in skill being needed to get them to stop at the bottom of the screen. I checked the connectors at the stalk, and at the motor but these seem fine. I also checked the fuse and made sure the relays were all pushed in. There is no clicking from the relay when I put it on intermittent, so I am moving towards a relay problem but have never heard anything about wiper relays going. Any help would be most appreciated to sort out this little niggle, that could prove to be a pain as we approach winter. Cheers, David
  22. Wiring for window switches and mirrors are different. Seat back pivoting points are bigger on later cars with a different clip to fit them into (you will see what I mean once you get the late interior in your hands).
  23. I have just dropped out the subframe to do an engine change and when putting the subframe back I forgot to reconnect the steering column. No probs I thought, did this in my Mk2, undid the UJ at the bottom of the column, connected UJ to rack, undid column retaining bolt, slid it out a little bit, wacked UJ back onto bottom of column and tightened everything. Tried this in the C, but you can't just unbolt the column from the shroud and then pull it out a little, or can you???...I don't want to drop the subframe again. Cheers, Dave
  24. On my 16v Golf my injectors were really badly clogged and it wouldn't rev past 4.5-5k and would struggle to get up to 70 mph on the motorway on the way back from Inters. It was also really jerky. Just another place to look, but it does sound fuel related.
  25. That car has turned up to the Ace Cafe once or twice. Actually bumped into Guy admiring it at Ace Cafe a few months back. The interior really has to be seen to be believed. However it is on the whole a clean car unlike the 'tippex' VR6 that had Recaro's. Also saw a horrid one in Bristol (another white one) by the Dub Depot a few years back with a Mundano 24v badge on the back on a G plate with truly awful paint.
