  1. Yep. All of it. I've had electrical problems ever since someone chopped out my fuse box so seeing if this is a more cost effective fix than paying an auto-electrician.
  2. Dark blue (possibly mystic blue) M6 PP? in Groombridge, near Tunbridge Wells Saturday morning. Saw it late, but looked standard and well cared for.
  3. Spotted this evening on the A21 Bromley Common on the way out of town: Supercharged VR6, N66 DNE. Didn't wave as it was dark and wet and I was on my motorbike. Car looked in good nick. Liked the high level brake light and the shark fin style aerial. Couldn't see much else.
  4. Serious amount of thought and work has gone into this. As for intercoolers, I've gone for a Golf G60 one. Pretty big and drops right in (there are even the mounting points on the radiator support cross member).
  5. lilfuzzer, I'm after a wiring loom from a 2l16v. Don't suppose you have one? Ongoing electrical issues that I'm hoping to sort by replacing the wiring. Thanks in advance, David
  6. Jon, In my experience, they splice into the loom as it runs on the floor next to the driver's seat. Pop off the long thin plastic panel that runs along the bottom edge of the door and pull back the carpet. You will then have access to the loom that goes to the back of and underside of the car. Look for anything wrapped in different tape - fitters tend to use electricians tape which differs from VW's loom tape. David
  7. 1st one is oil temp for MFA. 2nd is oil pressure. If you unscrew it, it will have the pressure stamped on it.
  8. The puddle in the passenger footwell shouldn't be related. I would focus on the fuse box. There is clearly a reason a 'project' car has its fuse box hanging down. There is a slider on the fuse box that holds the connectors in. Worth checking that everything is firmly in place. Strange that the car runs so the engine loom clearly works but little else does.
  9. Big shout out to Bob (leon263). Easy transaction, well packaged item, good price and arrived quickly 😊.
  10. Hi Leon, Thanks for the reply. Yep, interested. Happy to take to PM. David
  11. Looking for a replacement fuse box for my 2l 16v. Could someone do me a favour and let me have the part number? Also, is the fuse box engine specific or will any CE2 fuse box work? Thanks in advance. David
  12. Sorry. Don't follow. So Jezza referring himself to his bosses for his actions (i.e. assaulting the producer) vs. what evidence (please note, evidence not hearsay)? Don't get me wrong, anyone found to have covered up information about historic child abuse needs to be taken to task but trying to use this to condone what Clarkson did is weak. If you turned up for work and were assaulted but the guy who hit you was let off as he was seen by management as a golden egg because he was a brilliant salesman, you would be pretty ****ed. I don't think the BBC were left with any other option and I applaud them for their moral convictions on this matter (I'm not so naive to imagine the risk of constructive dismissal and the negative publicity wasn't also factored in) in the face of what are significant commercial considerations. Finally, I for one will not be sad to see the demise of Top Gear. Maybe I've moved on but the format has become very stale and formulaic: it's time for the BBC to live up to its vision of "inform, educate, entertain". This may signal the era of a new car show to take over the mantle. (rant over).
  13. Red VR6 L53*PRP on the A21 going through Bromley Common yesterday morning. Pretty standard on Speedlines, driven by a lady.
  14. In the last pic: blue one is the exciter write and goes to the alternator red/black goes to starter motor
  15. Hi Drew. I'm after the engine loom wiring and part of the ABS loom. Any ideas on price? You're not a million miles away so could pop up to strip it out.
  16. Hi Sean, How much are you looking at for the engine loom and part of the ABS loom and are you now in a position to remove it? Dave
  17. Hi Sean, I'm in need of the engine wiring loom and also part of the ABS loom. Where are you based, as I would be happy to strip the loom out myself (which would help me with re-fitting). Dave
  18. I had a similar issue whereby someone cut out my Clifford when the car was laid up, cutting every connector going into the fuse box. I had a spare loom and cut off the ends and re-soldered connectors back on, but have had wiring issues ever since. The only loom I definitely don't need is that which goes to the clocks and to the headlight switch and the only loom I definitely need is the ABS loom that comes through the bulkhead into the pasenger compartment behind the inlet manifold. If anything I could do with photo's of which wires connect to what as the spoiler doesn't come up at speed and I have issues with the high pressure oil buzzer going off.
  19. Dumptyboy, I'm after the ABS wiring loom, not including the sensor wires. In fact if you are left random bits of loom going into the fusebox from either the engine side or to the dash area then I would gladly take them as I have a number of ongoing wiring issues. Dave
  20. For the speedo, have you checked the gearbox end. On the early 16v's there should be a plastic cog.
  21. Hi Sean. Apologies for going quiet on this. I'm looking to replace part of my ABS loom in my 2l16v and trying to understand if the wiring is the same. I'll look to confirm shortly. Dave
