sounds like it could be the one on the alternator as i'm having battery charging problems aswell, how do i go about checking that the alternater is charging. also the other day the petrol can light came on for a couple of seconds and was beeping so i put my foot down and it went out :? (i had half a tank of petrol in) sounds like either pressure or battery charge is running low to me :?: . any help is appreciated thanks Bobby

i never knew corrados where available with no sunroof?
-
£199  , did i read that right, were they on a discount of some sort because i'm sure they are around the £300 mark in the pvw adverts?
-
yeah only when revs are increased so not really when i speed up, can make it go up from just holding down the accelerator down on idle, i'm thinking its a pressure problem of some sort. :|
-
ok it seems like everytime i speed up in my corrado (h reg 1.8 kr) the petrol gauge increases up to the point where it should really be but then when i slow down the petrol gauge drops aswell but not completely, what could this be , aslo the under car fuel pump is getting quite noisy acn hear it outside when car is running, i'm thinking its gonna be some sort of fuel pressure regulator, do i have one and where is it? should i also change the fuel filter at the same time. :?: thanks Bobby:D

so say i was wanting to replace an interior loom would it be just a case of unplugging the old interior loom and connecting in the new one, so the interior loom is totally seperate from the engine loom, sorry i'm not too clued up on wiring, thanks  How is the servo linked/effects the wiring? :?:
-
do both the engines use the same fuse box type so you didn't have to mess about with wiring too much was it near enough plug n play?

was caught by a sly police van parked up and i couldn't tell it was one until i saw it had the back doors open, when i got the letter on the 8th of this month and i was caught on something like the 29th last month. Anyway glad to hear i'm not going to get ripped on the insurance, i'll tell them i was doing a 'Caught Over Regular Rate Again, Doh!' and see what they say!
-
ok thanks just had the feeling i was gonna get a shafting from the insurance companies and thge price was gonna go through the roof.
-
after finally getting a corrado and finding a decent qoute i've just recieved a letteer in the post saying that i will be getting 3 points on my license and a £60 fine, so i was wondering if any of u guys could shed some light on how long do these points stay on my lescence (had a clean license for over 3 years since i passed). whta kind of increase in insurance costs aam i looking at from say a qoute of £1080 tpft a couple of hundred more? Can't beleive i got points for doing 38 mph in an area where traffic is alwys doiung around 40 on the 30mph road  . Oh well won't be doing that again. :( Bobby

if u find a place that does a decent jod on the plastic welding on the front bumper send their no. my way as no one down this end does it either!!! :( Thanks B
-
did the fronts today mate straight swap as long as u get the mechanism that bolts onto the side of the door aswell, best thing is when it does go its just goona cost u the price of a passat handle and not another silly corrado price :-P .
-
make sure they do weld a plate in as i have seen the result of filler jobs for debadging badge recesses, having dione a fair few flush tailgates i would say take it to some where to get it mig welded at a lowish setting so the rear panel doesn't warp and then send it too your local boys to skim fill over the surface  . it doesn't matter if the chunk of filler is airtight its gonna sagg because the surrond metal panel will expnad ata different rate in the heat and therefore will eventually show up the filler, trust me mate don't get it fillered as it will need to done again further down the line :( . What mods u getting done when its in the bodyshop? Bobby :D

Got a qoute from Brentacre cheapest so far £1080 when i get my 2nd NCD thats tpft on 1990 1.8 16v kr with under12k per year ,with any mods allowed, but limited to engine mods to a point, thats not too bad considering i'm 21 and all the other qoutes i've had are in the 1700 region for tpft with strictly no mods! good service from Brentacre from what i'vee heard, they get my recommendation anyway :D

whats involved in changing the underside one on a h reg 1.8 kr corrado, and does the petrol tank need to be empty when doing this? thanks Bobby
-
yeah, your right my central locking is confused and will be in a worse state (in the bin) if it don't start working properly, i have checked for vacuum leaks but everything seems to be ok. i will try giving the bolt the heat up method as its already recieved the "beating 7 colours out of it with a hammer" treatment  . just trying to remove the nut so that the rear shocker leg can be removed by taking the lower bolt that goes through the shock and the rear axle out. thanks again bobby
-
central locking works once when the battery is disconnected and reconnected and then doesn't work again, does this sound like a central locking pump problem or something else? Also i'm having problem removing the bolt that goes through tyhe rear axle that holds the s rear shocker leg in place, the bolt just don't wanna shift, even with loads of wd40 and a strong arm, don't want to cut of the bolt end as the rest will be left in the rear axle and won't be able to come out  , any ideas? :( thanks bobby :D

yeah looks like a shady match to me , the best way to check is normally put the painted panel up agianst something that doesn't get a lot of wear i.e inside of doors near lock mechanism but as u have put the wing on now its goons be hard to do, i now toa guy in leeds who matches the paint from the car and the code and mixes it taking age and fade into account  . to tell u truth i wouldn't bother respaying it as it loks like u have done an alright job there and the colour will definitley brighten up when its flattened and buffed. :-P B.
-
yeah that stuff is waxoyl that is under the wing, can be a pain in the ar$e to get off sometimes. As for the washer jets i'm not sure where the wiring comes from but i'm sure someone on the forum will be able to help, I'm gonna change mine to mk4 polo ones as they spray the water ten times better than corrado ones but they are not heated.
-
ok when you flatten the laquer down the shine willl be lost and it takes i fair bit of buffing to bring it back, just remember to go easy on the speed of the buffer and keep the wing fairly wet or else you may end up burning through your paint job, as for the washer jets i reckon your best of getting some paint that matches if u want it perfect, they are quite small so u may be able to get away with them being a touch out. To tell u truth mate it sounds like someone made u up a shady match, where did u get the paint from? I've had this problem before and its a pain because of the time spend doing the prep work, but if it is sprayed again u should be able to get away with not needing to primer the wing as it will be based on the same colour(ish). the laquer shouldn't really effect the colour it just gives a clear shine to the main colour and brings out the thrue colour. good luck with getting it sorted mate p.s. how hard was it to get the wing of without taking of the bumper as one side on my c bumper aint feeling coming off either!! thanks Bobby

has anybody changed a loom in a corrado, can the engine loom be changed independantly from the rest of the cars loom. the car is a 1.8 h reg kr, so would a 16v golf loom fit aslong as it is a 1990> loom. how difficult is the change as i have been having problem with some electrics, central locking etc and it seems to be down to the mess caused by some alarm installation at some point. :( thanks Bobby :D
-
if u know someone with an airgun u should have tried that as sometimes these acn work wonders getting rusted bolts out, before u get the wing spayed again does the wing look way to shiney compared to the rest of the car ? if so get some wet n dry 1500 sand paper soak the paper in a bucket with liquid in it and rub thw wing down gently then get hold of some g3 (rough) or g10 - fine grade (if u have a proper buffer) then apply this to the wing and rub in circular motion, will take ages without a buffer.Go easy on the corners as the paint will be thin here. This should help get a better match between new and old paint and often lighten ups the appearance of the paint. I take it u did use 2 pac primer as a base, and then 2 pac paint and then laquer? just give me a bell if u want me to go through this with you mate. Bobby

ok i will check that each injector is getting fuel steve, i does seem a bit on the slow side below 3k revs anything above that and i starts to shift quite nicely :D . so i take it i need to disconnect the red and black wire under the coil adjust the timing from the distributor and keep taking it for a spin until it seems to perform best, then turn of the engine and reconnect this black and red wire to the coil? thanks bobby
-
oops sorry its a h reg 1.8 16v kr, checked the calipers they seem ok, low as in 15mpg!!!
-
abybody got any ideas why my corrado seems to be getting such a low mpg figure i have been suggewsted to check the timing (not from the pulley though instead using a gerabox mark?) anyway is there any particular sensors i should be keeping an eye on as since i removed the one just below the dizzy my slow deceleration has been sorted. so does anyone know the corract wiring to th connectors on the side of the head under the dizzy (3 underneath and one at the back of the head) . could it possibly be a mixture problem? thanks bobby :D
