i can't remember his name, but he had the add for breaking the corrado's in the back of the autotrader so i'm sure he won't mind if u don't know his name, he said to come pick up the bits on monday morning so, aslong as u sort it out with him before then on what u want, then i can pick up the bits.I'm not too sure on wether i'll be down for any shows. any fairly local ones i might go to, which ones u off to this year and where and when are they mate? p.s sanj what are the plastic tog things that hold bown the carpet, just so i know what i should be collecting  .

i'l drain the oil when i get home then mate, if its got metal fragments i'm guessing its shafted (dead)? hopefully got a cammed lump and gearbox lined up with a new loom to replace the old messed about one, just gotta find some money to pay for it and to get it dropped in. Any ideas what i should be looking for when buying the new lump, signs of wear to look out for?(its already out of the donor car). Am i right in thinking the head of my lump is still usable as its been rebuilt about 200miles ago and has already been port and polished. :?

as usual somethings gone wrong with my corrado yet again  , after doing a top end rebuild on my 1.8 valver it seems the bottom end has pasted its sell by date. Took the car out for a spin, oil light came on and beeped then turned off again when i accelerated so i carried on driving. After a few minutes the oil light came on again but this time wouldn't go off, then came a banging noise from the engine bay, so pulled over to realise it was coming from the bottom end somewhere, anyway the car still drives and revs through the range fine, but has a loss of power and makes an awful clanging noise. My mechanic recons it will be one of the rods has broken, can anyone explain this to me, or any ideas what the problem could be? Even though i really want to keep the corrado, it seems to proving very unreliable (most likely down to the no. of bodging clowns who owned the car before me) and i'm seriously considering selling it once its sorted :( . thanks Bobby

use a wire wheel attatchment on a drill and see how shiny you'll get the inlet mainfold looking, i did mine then sanded it with wet and dry and it came up real nice, the red detailing looks well 8) mate.

yeah spot on mate the indicators are refusing to flash from the stalks unless the stalk is held back but they all flash from the hazard switch so its not the relay, hope its just that anyway :D , thanks again
-
ok that was one quick response. thanks :D

ok yeah i used the brown wire, will change this to the grey on when i get two new door handles  . just need to wire up a bonnet latch and its all done. is it just a case of extending a wire from the blue of the alarm to the bonnet swith and thats it, how does it know if the boot is opened? :?: p.s it knows when the doors are left open thanks again craig much appreciated mate  Bobby

was in my 90 16v corrado today and realised that there was some smoke coming from around the steering column/clocks  ,so i turned the engine off and left it for a while. when i started it back up it seemed ok, well no smoke from the dash anyway, any ideas on what it could have been. Could be it be linked with the fact that when the engine is reved past 6k the engins temp kept shooting upto to 120? could this be caused by the sensors on the engine being disconnected, or is it more likely to be some dodgy wiring? thanks Bobby :D
-
yeah sounds like i dodgy isv thats sticking, sometimes even a good clean doesn't sort them out. Is the microswitch on the throttle body meant to click when the throttle is on the rest position? i always though the throttle was meant come close to it on the rest position but not actually touch it (sure i read it in a haynes manual), sorry for going of topic  As for the coolant light my 16v does the same, aslong as the waterpump is returning water properly abnd there is no water loss then it should be ok, might be a sensor on the expansion tank.
-
gonna stick my neck on the line and say its got some good points like, the drop on the suspension, nice and low(probably grinded down springs  ), grey leather (gotta be mad if u aint appreciating that) and not sure on that vw logo etched in the lights. :?

after being suggested to install the autowatch unlock and lock relay thing cl65 i have mangaed to get my alarm to lock and unlock on alarm activation and de activation, great (thanks craig-aka sounds alarming). I know the window closure works from the out side if the key is held in the turned position, but can i get the windows to be put up from the alarm? i think the alarm is sending 2 short signals that are not enough send the windows up, the alarm is activated the doors lock then if a door pin is lifted the pump can be heard being activated again after say 20 secs and the doors will lock again. the alam is a autowatch 160rli or 106rli  . Also does annyone know if the sensitivity can be adjusted on these alarms as the the sensor plug in unit has no adjuster. Oh yeah one last question anybody any ideas on the colour of the wires that need to be connected to the bonnet switch from the alarm. p.s sorry for the essay  thanks Bobby :D

corrado4life check your policy as i'm only tpft on my mk4 polo and claimed a new windscreen under the window cover for £50! Might be worth checking :D

my c has started to do the same since it had a top end rebuild i think it may be down to a blockage in the water ways, anyway hope u get it sorted mate.
