_leon_ 0 Posted July 21, 2007 no offense then - but if a paint job, smoothing and some wheels ensures a sale at 4.5k then I think the rest of us G60 owners should get those done... Its above what the market trends are saying at the moment - but if its possible - then take it!
g60greeny 0 Posted July 21, 2007 no offence taken but with 126k fsh ,charger rebuild, respray plus smoothin ,9j borbets all round, new tyres full electric recaros i feel its worth that bit more than your average un loved g60? in my opinion its worth payin that bit more for a looked after car? Riley 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Thanks for the informative input guys...its appreciated. :) Not sure i agree about the respray bit though...i hate having paint work done...and glady ive never had any. The paintwork is honestly as good as it looks in the pics...And its not just like this on the big easy bits, all the wheel arches/door shuts etc etc are the same...excuse my m8 taking the pics  The proposed possible value is a little dissapointing admittedly... :( but i do understand that the ongoing problem may put people off,but then again...It really is THE only problem with the car, everything works as it should...sunroof,spoiler (after removing uprated headlight loom :? ) everything works perectly. As for spec list, this is what ive thrown together...I think with all the pics i post  people may tend to forget about the history iof the car,and as leon says...remember the history of me posting about the problem. :( ps:The car will have a potential 275+ brake horse...see below. _leon_ 0 Posted July 21, 2007 yeah. just i know how much it costs to put g60s right. and i've not bothered too much with the cosmetics yet. just the mechanics - none of it is cheap. always feel thats overlooked and thats where the complaints about the g60/corrado start... anyway - not my car so not too worried! lol but gave my opinion, someone else's turn.
g60greeny 0 Posted July 21, 2007 prices vary all the time anyway, but like i said minus the engine probs this does look a fine example an thats some list btw
Riley 0 Posted July 21, 2007 just the mechanics - none of it is cheap. always feel thats overlooked. Definately not overlooked on mine  I have literally replaced every switch/item you can think of bar the odd few...would be easier to list what i havent changed!

I think 4k is still optimistic in reality - but no-ones telling you not to list it at 4.5k and see what happens... If I were you, I'd definitely take it to a specialist and get them to fix the problem, get it confirmed that its resolved and list it for sale - the history will be, well history! ;) And stop bloody spending money on styling mods and get the problem sorted! Riley 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Im literally all out of cash guys :( The last few tweaks ive done styling wise have been done while also spending on trying to fix the problem, just tokeep me interested in it if anything...And the servicing has been done religiously! Plenty sets of plugs/filters/oil changes etc etc and ive only had it 2 years   And in those 2 years ive only covered 15k miles  I hear what you are saying, dont get me wrong...but,i literally don't have any cash left to spend on it,and its off the road at the end of the month. :( What you think about the spares i listed? Not think they are a good thing to gowith the car? especially the nitrous/cossie intercooler etc?
_leon_ 0 Posted July 21, 2007 well sell a set of wheels then to raise the cash. you could have fixed it by now if you didn't buy the other things - honestly. you never know - it may have only cost 200... make a plan and stick to it. otherwise this will go on forever... you're missing the point again mate - if you sell the spare/extras then you can claw back some money for fixing the running problem. if your plan/goal is to fix the car and sell it - then focus on that. ninoG60 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Knowing the car as I do, i would say a realistic figure would be 3 to 3.5k without the bits Sell the bits seperate from the car, its a beautiful example and bar that tiny tiny problem, is perfect, the problem isnt there all the time though as its never done it whilst ive been in it , you have to aggravate it to make it do it , but Neil, being the perfectionist that you are, you HAVE to have anything to do with the car perfect, and that shows with the care and attention you have lavished on it. Deffo better than any dealer serviced car IMO. I really hope you get the true value of the car, shame Gwerks aint up north as I reckon it will be a simple issue to get rid of the farting that it sometimes does. Guys if you aint seen this car its mint inside and out , if you have then u will know what im talking about. Here is hoping that it will go to a good home , someone who can look after it as well as you have done mate. Manny :D
g60greeny 0 Posted July 21, 2007 yeah we could do we gwerks branchin ot up north :D
Walesy 0 Posted July 21, 2007 As much as G-Werks are pretty much the only place worth having your charger rebuilt in the UK, they're not the only garage in the country that can fix G60's  - surly you have somewhere more local that knows G60's that would be able to sort it out!...there are specialists all over the country that will be just as capable of sorting out the problem, even down here in the ars3 end of no-where there's a fantastic place with loads of G60 know-how that can sort out any problem(RKE). I agree with Leon, no offence dude but it seems a bit mad that you've spend loads on wheels etc when you've got this bastard problem plauging you and you can't afford insurance etc - selling a set of rims and the extras you've got and taking the car to a local specialist to sort out would be the best way forward IMO. Best of luck with it, whatever you decide matey 8)
Riley 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Well... The car is sort of provisionally sold for 3.8k to the girlfriend...But she changes her mind every minute of the day. So there are two people inline waiting with the cash, ive actually been offered 4k!. Now for my uncertainty. I sold the porsche rims, quite sorry to see em go but the money could go towards having the car looked at...Am i actually thinking about keeping it when people are offering me cash left right and center :? even with the running problem. I managed to get the insurance sorted after using a short term policy, and have been driving it for a while with the wot switch taped up.Today just for the crack i reverted it back to standard, and yep the problem is instantly there... :( Really slow to rev up and popping. Anyway...latest pic as its been a while what with having no real enthusiasm for it.

junkie 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Looks well in that pc neil. Def dont sell the spares with the car it will not add any value what so ever. Is the cossie cooler not worth a good £500? Edit: Think i may be getting confused with the RS500 item
Riley 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Aye...tis just the 4x4 cossie intercooler. 8) Really wanted to get a few last tweaks done on the car such as the intercooler etc but i dunno after all the hassle/problems/possible sale. Do i really want to carry on pouring time and effort into it again? I guess im just in the middle of deciding on whether to keep it or not and then possibly having the problem looked at. Ive really let the general tidyness go lately which just aint like me :(
Riley 0 Posted October 1, 2007 I removed the wheels last week,washed/polished and waxed them inside ans outside...The previous wash/polish/wax did me proud, the crap just rinsed off to reveal brand newness :D I then spent a full day doing the following: Meguiars scratch-x - Twice. Meguiars paint cleaner once. Meguiars polish - Twice. SmartWax once. All trim/tyres done with Megs tyre gel. Wheels polished with Megs step 2,and then waxed with SmartWax. All interior vacumed out,and spruced up quickly with Meguiars quik detailer. Got meself to Volksdevil North West...Few pics. 8)

Riley 0 Posted November 5, 2007 couple of vids... Thought id try my spare center caps which i originally planned to polish...but i just painted the other set black at the time while i was painting the rims... Bit unsure about em with not being polished as yet...
junkie 0 Posted November 5, 2007 They look the nuts Neil, def dont put the black 1's on again, they were too black before.
Veearrhsix 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Hmmmmm... Put the black ones on again - personally, I liked the Porsche wheels you had on before. Anyhow, I'd put the black caps on again, as these others appear to look trippy-like, as if they're floating in the middle of the rims. Not good.
