Put my new mats in 'cos they arrived from Germany... But did it very slowly as I managed to tweak my back whilst working on the car yesterday, so that's going to be about the extent of what I can do for about the next three or four days till I regain any sort of mobility...!

Busy boy today, sanded passat handles and mechs for painting when the dent/door/wing repair happens in July (keen arn't i?)

Then replaced track rod ends, and slipped the collars missing from my wishbone bushes into place. Seems to have cured the odd sensation in the steering after getting it lowered on the weitec kit last weekend. Hopefully I can take it back to get aligned now without any hassles. :D

Weird thing now, it seems to be sitting lower on the rear driver's arch than the rear passenger's - I'm hoping it's just from the jacking etc.. and it'll settle soon. If not - **** **** **** **** ******* ****!

edit - oh, and settled an oil leak by replacing the two pressure switches on top of the cooler :D

Fitted new read badge after using search on here to work out how to do it. (Not saying how I spent 1 hour yesterday trying to do it :))

Cleaned under the sills with nail brush and buckets and buckets and buckets of water.

Chickened out of trolley jacking the front up to remove wheels for a full clean of wheel arches as she was getting very high and rubber was still on the ground!!!!

Today I pulled out all the transmission tunnel trims- took off all the old knackered felt and replaced it with over a metre and a half of self adhesive felt strip covering all potential chafeage points- no more wedging paper down the gaps to try and stop the creaking- it now feels like it should have done when it left the factory :D :D - next week it will be the same with the dash :(
