tonedef 9 Posted August 29, 2016 Think I diagnosed the ABS problem, waiting for parts delivery...........one job closer to getting back own the road, only AC pipes and leather re-trim to go! Next year for sure, been saying that about five years though!
Chuggs1 10 Posted August 29, 2016 Well after months of prevaricating I've at last done some work in my car ... so sunroof problem was not the mechanism as I thought it couldn't be. .. fitted new motor and greased up and now works as good as new .... shows how good these cars can be .... using it daily at the moment to run back and forth to work and drives superbly every day.... as good as the day it came out of the showroon. Mot in a month..... should fly though .... I hope Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
seanl82 23 Posted August 29, 2016 I used mine daily for 7 months Chuggs and also had a few long trips in it over the last couple of months and it never missed a beat. If looked after and preventative rather than corrective maintenance done, they'll go on and on. Not hugely comfortable on a day to day basis admittedly, but an absolute joy on decent roads and around the twisties. Still can't sorn it til I receive the garage keys (hopefully this week), then it'll be one more spirited drive to use up the quarter tank of fuel, and put away for a fair while. I'm on 149,499 miles right now. Still driving like a dream though. :thumbleft:
Chuggs1 10 Posted August 29, 2016 Almost hit 150,000 wow....these cars are ace... mine is still low at under 57K. Still loving the sound Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
seanl82 23 Posted August 29, 2016 Yep, still a pup going off some of those on here though, and tons of them still going strong! Yep, the noise is still addictive, especially with a BMC CDA. Still look out the rear view mirror when passing 55mph every time too!
Chuggs1 10 Posted August 29, 2016 Thought of bmc but kept her pretty standard .... other than suspension and brakes Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Still look out the rear view mirror when passing 55mph every time too! I've owned Corrado's now pretty much solid for 15 years.. and I still glance into the rear view mirror to see the spoiler most times as I go past 55. It's crazy.

seanl82 23 Posted August 29, 2016 Chuggs, the BMC is such an easily reversible mod though, and trust me you wouldn't regret it! Subcool, one of my favourites that! Leaves such a slick and wet looking finish, you could almost swim in it! Jim B, ummm, both I suppose! Lol
Chuggs1 10 Posted August 29, 2016 True.... I've kept my original suspension in case I ever sell.... can be sold with car for new owner to make their own decision Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Dox 23 Posted September 4, 2016 Started it up for the first time in 2 months, the battery needed no help and the car idled nicely until the fans kicked in. Totally different to the last time i used it when it was stalling, tapping, erratic idle etc.... The bstd knows its on the naughty step!
Tigerfish 10 Posted September 4, 2016 Finally got some grey leather front door cards installed to match the seats and rear cards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
seanl82 23 Posted September 4, 2016 Cleaned it inside and out for the first time since Harewood! Got to use it for work again for the next 3 days whilst I await delivery of a new aux belt tensioner for the Pug.

gotvach 10 Posted September 4, 2016 Re-seated front headlight connector which led me to check the other bulbs. Cleaned rear bulbs and found one missing. Hoovered cockpit and boot, re-fitted rear part of seat. Polished bonnet. Tried out Polytrol on the tailgate plastic and other external trim - results are quite nice. dr_mat 0 Posted September 6, 2016 Alright it was yesterday, but: got the Corrado through the MoT and gave it a major service. Bet no-one else checks their gearbox oil level regularly either, but turns out it had only one litre in there, when it takes nearly two. I suspect it's been like this for years.. Still, the VR has been polished, new plugs, leads, oils and fluids, and it sounds great again. Another year, another bill...
gotvach 10 Posted September 6, 2016 Bet no-one else checks their gearbox oil level regularly either, but turns out it had only one litre in there, when it takes nearly two. I suspect it's been like this for years. I asked for a gearbox oil change once and was told it's not necessary. However on another car it made a world of difference - almost felt like a new gearbox. dr_mat 0 Posted September 6, 2016 Well yeah. "It's not necessary". But it's really cheap and easy and on a 20 year old car specialists should add this to their routine list of things to check!
gotvach 10 Posted September 6, 2016 Agreed. A lot can happen in 20+ years; and now I'm inclined to check mine :) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
