Critical_Mass 10 Posted July 7, 2009 Not too sure. The bloke who did mine (post above yours) took one FULL day to do mine. Suppose it depends what your having done. I had alarm immob install all locks wired up to alarm, internal sonics, full closure. i didnt have something like remote start fitted.
_leon_ 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Andy fitted a Cobra to mine today - very happy with the result - got a shedload of old alarm/wiring removed - cleared up a lot of other crap hiding behind the dash - and now have a nice new alarm - top job - recommended

daleyboy 0 Posted October 7, 2009 Had a CAT 1 alarm fitted by Andy (trim wizard) today cost me £275 which i thought was reasonable, it is a cobra alarm, really knows his onions, time will tell if its any good. Took about 4 1/2 hours and he had the loom already made up, i did tell him to take his time.

Wendy 0 Posted October 26, 2009 My Cobra Thatham Cat 1 Alarm fitted in 2006 has just packed up !!! Great, cost me £400 and lasted 3 years, not impressed. It has been with the alarm specialists this morning. I have now rang Brentacre Insurance, who say the Cat 1 is no longer required and Thatham Cat 2 is OK. Apparently the Corrado was delisted from Cat 1 some years ago. So, I am wondering why you are all still going to the expense of the Cat 1 when a Cat 2 can be picked up for £100 whereas the Cat 1's are £300 ish. ? To stop thieving scum stealing our cars, im not an expert but i would guess cat 1 is a fair bit better than cat 2 and i would feel much happier paying the extra to secure my car. Wendy 0 Posted October 27, 2009 My understanding is a Cat 2 is an immobiliser and a Cat 1 has an alarm and immobiliser. So question is, does the alarm actually stop anyone thieving your car ? !! Difficult one !! I too am tempted to re purchase a Cat 1, but is that because that is what i have become used to ??
smee 0 Posted November 6, 2009 Yes they do! My old G60 was broken into earlier this year, but because the alarm went off they didn't actually get inside the car or nick anything. Wrote off the drivers door in the process, the scumbags, but didn't get the car or any of my ICE.
