flatg40 0 Posted April 21, 2006 Does the big valves head keep a good torque at low revs ? What are the best mod to improve the torque curve (I don't need lots of power at high revs) ?
Shaggy 0 Posted April 22, 2006 if you want good torque at low revs your best bet would be to increase the engine size to a 1.9 or 2 Litre, this will give an increase in torque lower down, that matched with a big valve head or a G-werks CNC head will improve torque/power through the range and will inrease air flow, which is good thing in the G60 powered car! That should give you a monster of a car!!

Shaggy 0 Posted May 2, 2006 Thanx for the comments guys! just ordered one of those orbital polishers from the states, which are meant to be the dogs danglies , which should save my arm from aching so much when doing a full polish. Will post up pics & results when i take delivery, looking at a few pics the results are very very good, and doesnt require a huge amount of effort, especially on 15 year old "hard" VW paint. the car is going into G-werks probably at the end of may to have a gearbox / Clutch change, and also a few other little things.... namely a manifold and some inlet porting if it needs it, at the moment both the exhaust manifold and inlet are totally standard and havent been matched to the head yet, so that needs to be done amd should make the system flow more efficiently aswell. :) in terms of external mods i think its probably going to stay pretty much the same for a while apart from a few bits that need respraying but i am not that fussed about that yet as my main priority is the engine work for now...
