Mollyslip????

Recommended Posts

Right I think ive done bad.

Pursuaded my brother that Mollyslip gearbox treatment is ace stuff, as my uncle had sworn by it for years.

It went in the top of his gearbox in the plug next to where it meets the engine on his Mk 3 golf and now the clutch slips and there is oil dripping out of the gearbox at the bottom?????????????????????

what Have I done and can it be fixed? have I just oiled the clutch plate?

You mean in the big ish hole that has a green screw cap on it? If so that means that you have lubricated the clutch!! (not good) may be able to burn it off but quite often the clutch gets impregnated with the oil etc and can not be saved.

Sh1te! - is the flywheel visible from under the car?

If so then maybe you can wash it off somehow - ie feed some cleaning chemical thru the flywheel inspection hole and let it drain off...

er the gearbox filler is underneath the car!! did you not notice the flywheel in the hole you were pouring the molyslip into! but your right that clutch will last for ages now! zero friction!!

I would imagine the clutch friction linings are knackered now, they would probably have absorbed the oil.

I know somebody that did this to their mk3 golf a couple of years back

It never stopped slipping for 3 months so it was a new clutch job in the end.

Gutted, well for who ever it was, i dont remember.
