Robbo149 0 Posted October 13, 2003 Hi all, anyone out there got wipers that actually clear the windscreen?!! Mine don't seem to make very good contact, I've tried new blades but makes no difference. Is there anything I can do to make them better? (New springs maybe = better pressure?) cheers, Robbo
dazzyvr6 0 Posted October 13, 2003 do a forum search, youve got 2 options really either get the dremmel out and grind away the spring stop(??)or the lupo gti mod
MikeVR6 0 Posted October 13, 2003 I'd recommend the Lupo GTI wipers. They make an excellent improvement. Bit more expensive than the Dremel fix though :)
Nick_Micouris 0 Posted October 13, 2003 LUP gti mod - no question!

Joe M 0 Posted October 13, 2003 http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=153 Skip to the last page or 2 if u cant be bothered reading it all. Well worth the money though.
MikeVR6 0 Posted October 13, 2003 Fit the arms and fancy wipers from a Lupo GTI as per this thread.... http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... lupo+wiper These wipers will actually apply some pressure to the windscreen, unlike the the original underengineered ones. Then you'll see clearly as you fly up the M1 Lurgan-bound at 120 in the rain marksvr6. :D :D
dan 0 Posted October 13, 2003 Yeah, I done the 'Dremmel fix'... they are better but still not great. Luckily it does'nt rain much over here
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 13, 2003 I dremelled mine too but the problem is a lack of spring tension in the stock wiper arms. Kev
dr_mat 0 Posted October 14, 2003 Has anyone tried non-GTi Lupo blades? I'm not keen on the design of the Lupo GTi blade, so was wondering if any old Lupo blade will work on those arms?
Mike Edwards 0 Posted October 14, 2003 Doesn't rain much? Ummm... that was irony - wasn't it? I've yet to visit the "Emerald Isle" without this particular experience... :)
biggrim 0 Posted October 15, 2003 Or you could fit a single wiper. Again not the cheapest but another option nonetheless.
