pete_griff 0 Posted April 13, 2009 This company sounds like idiots! do they do gearbox builds all day long? This would make me sick to my gut :mad2: hope they give you your money back?! i know that's whats really annoying me - they are a specialist gearbox place; thats what they do!!! the only reason i went there is because i was recommended by my friend. he's got an integra type-r; he's on his second now, both have been there and he had great service. i'm going to speak to them tomorrow, but i'm not holding out much hope. Trading Standards time Pete....... cheers pal - think that's all i can do really I've started eating vegetables and salad and stuff, so I'll have some monster turds built up for them... B@stards! quality! - cheers pal - may well hold you to that! on the plus side this weekened - i've found out that the corrado is faster than a porsche carrera, but slower than a yamaha R1! looking forward to seeing what it will top out at now - with my longer 5th (provided it's survivied! :bad-words: ), i should be looking at circa 170mph wind resistance etc allowing! :bonk:

Leonard 0 Posted April 27, 2009 Blimey just caught up with your gearbox saga, what a nightmare. You really should go and see a solicitor about your burns mate, that is terrible. Probably find that you would get an easy few £k. And Im not into getting insurance money for nothing but what you suffered is definitely not nothing! Just to echo a few of the thoughts on your for sale thread, I would get a cheap run around for a bit and give yourself time to settle down after all that has happened recently. Just dont get a Rover 400..... :nono:

pete_griff 0 Posted May 4, 2009 Hi, Can you say who manufactures / supplies the rad fan's & Mounting bracket you have shown in Page 14.? Cheers, alternatively you could buy mine.... i'm asking £7000 - the brackets come with a free Corrado! (pending a decision from someone tomorrow, i may also be breaking the car. if that's the case i'll be asking £250 for my new OEM (denso marston) rad complete with fans, brackets and Gruvenparts billet rad neck...) Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted May 4, 2009 I can't believe you want to break this man!!
twinbeltg60 3 Posted May 5, 2009 Hi, Well I actually have a G60 and have just bought a new rad, same size as yours, so was just after the info as to who you got the Fans & Brackets from..but I might be interested in a purchase, perhaps. Let me know your decision , P.M me.? WigsVR6 0 Posted May 8, 2009 Hi Pete Ill post this here rather than hijack your thread for selling parts. Just want to say Im gutted for you, as many have said. The car is a testament to your skills and dedication to perfection. It must be breaking your heart to do this. I'm sad thinking about it. Do you know why the clutch was wearing down so quickley? Good luck with the sale of your parts ect. Hope to still see you active on the forum. Alan :(
coullstar 0 Posted May 8, 2009 I can totally understand this. Having put all that effort in for someone to come along and reap the benefits of your hardwork would be hard to take. At the end of the day its only a car.
pete_griff 0 Posted May 8, 2009 thank you for the sentiments gents, they are well appreciated. i had to drive the car to it's final resting place tonight - feeling properly properly miserable as i walked away from it. :( :( :(
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted May 9, 2009 Dont do something that you know you will regret Pete ! :cuckoo:
Toad 0 Posted May 9, 2009 I'm still more than happy to come up and help you change the clutch...
Supercharged 2 Posted May 9, 2009 Yep, come on Pete - get a grip and let Toadie help you sort the niggles out... it sounds like the car is 98% there and should be reliable for years to come after the initial snagging is done.
swiftkid 1 Posted May 11, 2009 So can we not talk you out of this Pete? There are plenty of fellow corrado owners willing to help get this 100%, if you were closer i would definately be round giving you a helping hand. It must be worth that last extra push, seeing as you have yourself a daily cough...ahem, sax cough... cough... saxo
dukest 0 Posted May 11, 2009 I think the job is well underway now, the man has made his decision and is hopefully about to be a lot less poor and stressed. :salute:
pete_griff 0 Posted May 11, 2009 the job is indeed very much underway now. i just couldn't keep it - it's amazing the amount of pressure parents can put on you even when you haven't lived at home or needed cash off them for years! plus the sigh of relief my girlfriend breathed when i said i was getting rid of it was unbelievable - and i purposely made 'rado ownership as painless as i could for her! :? it really was heart wrenching having to drive it for the last time and then park it up to start ripping bits off it :( at the end of the day though there's light at the end of the tunnel - i'll be getting a nice newish car from all the proceeds from the corrado (think i've finally settled on an integra type-r dc5 - the new integra). and before long when i come in to some money i'll hopefully be picking up a project car that i can work on when i have some free time (so never probably!) hence there is definitely scope to return to the corrado fold yet... i really can't say enough how much i appreciate the offers of help on here - i certainly won't forget that and hopefully i've sorted those in question out with accordingly priced parts... i've really enjoyed the friendliness on this forum so i recon i'll try and stick around on here in future and help people out where i can... the end of an era really (albeit a short one!) swiftkid 1 Posted May 11, 2009 ok, well you've been a great help to me when i was considering R32'ing my corrado and your information will probably help me in the future if i do decide to go that route! I absolutely love your choice of car next, they just look amazing and sound fantastic. Think the blue looks fantastic!!! You'll get another corrado, they all do... they all come back

If not then can I have first dibs on the interior? lol... Vulture time really but I couldn't resist the question :norty:
