"avi" is just a container format - it describes how to encapsulate video and audio streams, it doesn't describe how you should encode those streams, hence why some avi files play just fine and others don't. Jim 2 Posted January 20, 2009 I used MPlayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html) under Mac OSX and it ran it fine (however it did originally try and open in my web browser, Safari, and subsequently launched Quicktime to try and play it - which failed!)
